I was looking for a simple, good-value lunch near the office when I found Sammiri Makguksu! This was my first time visiting a dedicated makguksu (buckwheat noodle) restaurant, and after trying it myself it was better than expected, so I wanted to introduce it haha.

It's especially good for office workers near Sinsa Station looking for a simple lunch, and the vibe is completely relaxed even if you're eating alone, so I'd recommend it for solo diners too 😆

## Where is Sammiri Makguksu, and what are the hours and parking?

Sammiri Makguksu is at 48-39 Gangnam-daero 95-gil, 1F, Seocho-gu, Seoul, roughly halfway between Sinsa and Nonhyeon stations. Hours are 11:00–20:00, and 11:00–17:00 on Sundays only (check notices for Sunday operation). So I'd recommend walking over rather than driving!

There is some parking space in front of the restaurant, but it's so tight you can't fit much. If you're lucky you might squeeze in 1-2 cars, but it seems easier to just come by public transit or on foot haha.

Since it's a newly opened makguksu place, there was a congratulatory flower stand out front 🌺 Sammiri Makguksu started in Bundang in 2019 and has newly opened here in Gangnam!

Since it's a dedicated makguksu place with in-house noodle-making, I went in with high expectations haha. Maybe because it's newly opened, the building and exterior overall looked clean 👍

## Bar table for solo diners and kiosk ordering at Sammiri Makguksu

Inside Sammiri Makguksu, the seating ranged from 2-tops to 4-tops to a bar table. Once inside, I could see the varied table setup — probably because a lot of office workers come here for lunch.

There are 2-tops and 4-tops, and there's a bar table too, which is the optimal seat for solo dining haha!!

Overall it was clean, with a layout that works well for solo diners, office lunch crowds, and groups of 2-4.

Tangy radish comes out as a basic side. When I ordered the buckwheat pancake, they gave me soy sauce with it too!

## Buckwheat pancake, 10,000 won: how is it with the onion soy sauce?

Sammiri Makguksu's buckwheat pancake is ₩10,000 and comes with an onion-based soy sauce. The pancake arrives neatly plated! And the soy sauce that comes with it is my favorite kind — onion soy sauce 🧅 I love soy sauce with onion in it 😆

There's kimchi inside, which gives it a subtly spicy kick 🌶️ It was way better eaten with the onion soy sauce rather than plain! I highly recommend topping it with the onion too haha.

## Perilla oil makguksu, 12,000 won: what are the house-made noodles like?

The perilla oil makguksu is ₩12,000, and the moment it arrives, the distinct nutty, savory aroma of perilla oil hits you right away!!🍜

The noodles are 1.3mm thick — apparently they tested many times to find the thickness that pairs best with the broth or seasoning! Maybe that's why the noodles are neither too thick nor too thin, and the seasoning clings to them perfectly when you take a bite 👍

Also, Sammiri Makguksu makes the noodles fresh and boils them only after the order comes in, so they're wonderfully chewy.

## Dongchimi makguksu, 12,000 won: the must-try bowl

Dongchimi makguksu is also ₩12,000, and it was personally the dish I'd most recommend at Sammiri Makguksu. Just looking at it makes it seem so refreshing!! haha.

The dongchimi (radish water kimchi) broth was genuinely delicious, but what struck me most was how well this dongchimi broth paired with the buckwheat noodles! With one bite, you get the cool, tangy dongchimi broth together with the nutty flavor of the buckwheat noodles, and the combination was really good 👍 The broth clings to the noodles and goes down cleanly!

If you come here, I'd really recommend trying the dongchimi makguksu at least once. Personally it exceeded my expectations by far haha.

## Is Sammiri Makguksu worth it for a weekday lunch near Sinsa Station?

Sammiri Makguksu, which I found while looking for a simple lunch near Sinsa Station! This was actually my first time at a dedicated makguksu restaurant, so my expectations were sky-high before eating haha. After trying it, it was good enough to make me curious why makguksu restaurants are so famous 👍 It's great for office workers wanting a simple lunch, and I'd recommend it for solo dining too!!🍜
