I'd been passing by this place on the way to grab a meal and had wanted to try it for a while, just waiting for my kid's hagwon (private academy) time to come around.

## Can you bring kids and dogs to Chilango Seolleung?

With the flashy entrance and lighting, I'd assumed this was a drinks-first taco place, but a friend told me a lot of customers come with kids, and even with dogs. So I headed there right away with my family.

## Inside Chilango Seolleung: the L-shaped dining room

True to a Mexican restaurant, the place had an exotic feel throughout, and the tables were spaced generously apart, making it comfortable to eat.

The restaurant was even bigger in person than it looked in photos.

It's shaped like an L, bending around a corner, so what you see from the entrance isn't the whole space.

There were several different sauces prepared, so it was fun to taste each one and figure out which combination to go with.
With tacos, the ingredients matter, but the sauce you pair them with really changes the flavor.

Once the sauces and side ingredients were all set out, we were ready to start building our own tacos!

## The 78,000 won 3-person taco plate: beef, pork and chicken on a cast-iron platter

A little while later, the main ingredients arrived piled high on a hot cast-iron platter.

Grilled pineapple and grilled bell peppers sat on top, and the colorful mix made it look really pretty even before we started eating.

In the center, the beef, pork, and chicken were divided into three equal sections, so we could taste all three meats evenly.

Because it came out hot on the cast-iron platter, the food stayed warm and didn't cool down, from the moment it hit the table

the delicious smell kept drifting up, making me want to wrap a taco right away.

With the cheese melting into the meat on the hot platter, a savory aroma rose up too, and I liked being able to try all three meats evenly.

## Tortillas vs taco shells: how to wrap your own tacos

Following the instructions, I rubbed lime on the tortilla, then added various sauces and meat before wrapping it up.

You can make whatever combination you like,

and it was fun that each person's version turned out a bit different depending on who wrapped it.

You could wrap the tacos in a warm tortilla or load them into a crispy taco shell, and even with the same ingredients, the feel was totally different.

The tortilla wrapped everything softly, while the taco shell added crunch, so the same meat and sauce ended up tasting like something else entirely.

It has that distinctive tangy, fizzy lime flavor that went really well with the tacos.
After a bite of taco loaded with meat and cheese, a sip of the lime drink cleared my palate, so it paired well with the food.

## Why the taco plate suits groups and family meals

Instead of just meat, adding grilled bell peppers or pineapple brought a sweet, crunchy note and created yet another combination.
With so many sauces prepared, we weren't locked into one flavor from the start — we could build whatever combo we felt like that day.
With three kinds of meat, beef tasted different from pork and chicken, and switching between tortillas and taco shells meant that even though it was technically one menu item, it felt like eating several different dishes.
