## In short

Jojo AK Plaza Suwon is a teppanyaki restaurant in the B1 food hall of AK Plaza, connected to Suwon Station in Gyeonggi. I tried the 18,000 won Basic Yakisoba and Mentaiko Gyoza set, with smoky aromas, plump squid, and savory flying-fish-roe sauce. Verdict: a convenient, satisfying choice for a solo meal or a shared food-hall meal.

## Jojo, connected to Suwon Station

A lot of restaurants near Suwon Station have difficult parking, so I tend to visit AK Plaza often because parking is easy there. It is directly connected to the subway station too, making it convenient by public transit. This time, I visited Jojo, a teppanyaki restaurant at AK Plaza Suwon that worked not only for eating alone but also for a date. Let me share my honest experience of trying its yakisoba (Japanese stir-fried noodles) and mentaiko gyoza (seasoned-cod-roe dumplings) as a set!

Jojo AK Plaza Suwon is right in front of the B1 food hall entrance, next to Starbucks. Since it is inside AK Plaza, the parking area felt fairly spacious, and parking support is available according to your purchase total.

## The bar table and food hall seating

From Line 1 at Suwon Station, head into the B1 food hall of AK Plaza and walk straight ahead—you will see Jojo right away.

There was a bar table right in front of the restaurant. With around 10 seats, it looked like an easy, no-pressure option for anyone looking for a place to eat alone at Suwon Station. The food hall also had lots of dining tables, so it would be fine for two, four, or more people; if the bar is full, you can use a food hall table instead.

As you would expect from a teppanyaki place, they make the food on the iron griddle right in front of you once an order comes in. Sitting at the bar table, I could watch the yakisoba and okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake) being made too.

Even when I visited, orders kept coming in, and they were making teppanyaki nonstop.

## Basic Yakisoba and Mentaiko Gyoza set

There were plenty of choices, from individual dishes to sets. There were also set menus for two, which looked nice for sharing during a Suwon Station date. Yakisoba came in several varieties, including Karai, Shio, Basic, and Jojo Yakisoba. From spicy options to cleaner-tasting choices, plus pork and seafood okonomiyaki, it was easy to pick according to your preference.

After ordering, they give you a pager, so even if you are not at the bar table, you can find a nearby seat and wait.

The yakisoba set was ₩18,000. I ordered the set with Basic Yakisoba and Mentaiko Gyoza.

True to a Japanese restaurant, everything arrived neatly arranged. Because it was cooked straight on the griddle, I could smell that smoky char as soon as it came out.

The Basic Yakisoba contained pork and squid. The squid had a pleasingly plump bite, while the pork was tender and easy to eat with the noodles. The sauce, noodles, and meat went together wonderfully.

### Mentaiko Gyoza dipped in flying-fish-roe sauce

The Mentaiko Gyoza that came with the set can also be ordered on its own. One bite showed that it was generously filled, with plenty of mentaiko, making it a different kind of treat from the yakisoba.

It was good on its own, but I tried dipping it generously in the flying-fish-roe sauce that came with it.

The popping flying fish roe added a savory richness that made it especially enjoyable.

They say they provide a drink when you write a Naver receipt review, so you may want to take part.

## How was it for solo teppanyaki dining at Suwon Station?

If you are looking for somewhere to eat alone at Suwon Station, the bar table made solo dining comfortable, and its location inside AK Plaza made it easy to reach. I had a filling meal with yakisoba and mentaiko gyoza, both made on the griddle right after ordering. If you are craving Japanese dishes or teppanyaki such as yakisoba and okonomiyaki at Suwon Station, Jojo AK Plaza Suwon could be worth a visit.
