## In short

Suwolgyeonghwa is a Korean dessert and tea café on the 4th floor of a red-brick building across from the Gudeokpo train tunnel in Songjeong, Busan. On a weekday afternoon the writer double-parked in the building's small lot, waited a few minutes for a front-row window seat facing the sea, and ordered bamsikhye (chestnut rice punch) and iced hyeonwolhojicha (roasted rice tea). Prices at Suwolgyeonghwa run a little high, but both the ocean view and the drinks were worth it.

A Songjeong café in Busan with real Korean beauty to it. Let me introduce Suwolgyeonghwa (수월경화), a place where you can take in a wide-open ocean view in one glance.

An honest review! I wrote exactly what I felt during my actual visit. The prices run a bit high, but the atmosphere and the drink quality both satisfied me, so I recommend it.

## Where is Suwolgyeonghwa, and how does parking work?

![Exterior of the red-brick building across from the Gudeokpo train tunnel in Songjeong](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-02-nto6q-900.webp)

Suwolgyeonghwa, this Songjeong café in Busan, sits on the 4th floor of a red-brick building across from the Gudeokpo train tunnel. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, so it's a great stop after a meal.

You can park in the building's own lot. The space is tight, but double-parking is allowed, so that's what I did. If the lot is full, you'll need to use a paid lot nearby, so keep that in mind if you're driving. (No parking fee support if you use a paid lot.)

## Songjeong sea views from every floor of Suwolgyeonghwa

![Seating at Suwolgyeonghwa with a view of Songjeong sea through floor-to-ceiling windows](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-06-kc0uu-900.webp)

![Calm atmosphere of the Suwolgyeonghwa café space](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-07-oye8z-900.webp)

The interior at Suwolgyeonghwa was genuinely beautiful. From any floor you can take in the wide-open Songjeong sea. The clean interior combined with a touch of Korean aesthetics made it a calm place to unwind.

## Full even on a weekday: how to get a front-row window seat

![Seating at Suwolgyeonghwa full of customers even on a weekday](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-08-13yoa-900.webp)

![The prized front-row sea window seat at Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-09-1blii-900.webp)

Even though it was a weekday, Suwolgyeonghwa was packed with people. The front-row sea seats are especially prized real estate. The chairs aren't the most comfortable, so people tend to clear out fairly quickly — on a weekday, a short wait was enough to get a window seat.

![View of Songjeong sea through the window](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-10-zfmab-900.webp)

It's a quiet, calm atmosphere — just staring out at the scenery and zoning out to the sea felt healing in itself.

![Elegant gift sets displayed at Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-11-1t2gq-900.webp)

They also have elegant gift sets on display, which would make a nice souvenir from a Busan trip.

![View of the Haeundae beach train from the café](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-12-js0ua-900.webp)

You can also watch the beach train go by. Watching surfers and groups playing chicken fights out in the water in the distance was fun too.

## How the bamsikhye and iced hyeonwolhojicha tasted

![Korean-style dessert and tea menu at Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-13-n7r69-900.webp)

![Menu board listing ssanghwacha and oolong tea](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-14-rmffo-900.webp)

![Introduction to the jewelry-box-like Dalbodeure box](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-15-1p7ca-900.webp)

The menu suits the space. There are Korean desserts and drinks like ssanghwacha (herbal tonic tea) and oolong tea available. The Dalbodeure box looks just like a jewelry box — it seemed like almost every customer ordered it.

![A cup of bamsikhye with bits of ice floating in it](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-16-qwcki-900.webp)

![Bamsikhye placed on a window-side table](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-17-m7sff-900.webp)

Bamsikhye (chestnut rice punch) suited the hot summer weather perfectly. With bits of ice floating in it, it was truly refreshing. Not too sweet, so it felt clean, and the rice grains had a nice bit of chew to them too!

![A cup of iced hyeonwolhojicha](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-18-1wo23-900.webp)

![Iced hyeonwolhojicha set against a sea backdrop](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-19-1dj6b-900.webp)

For the other cup, I ordered the recommended pick, iced hyeonwolhojicha. It's a roasted green tea with a smoky, toasted aroma, letting you enjoy the natural nuttiness of the grain along with the richness of brown rice. I usually love cold-brewed tea, and this one was refreshing and clean — both my companion and I were satisfied.

![Tea and ocean view at a window-side table at Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat/songjeong-suwolgyeonghwa-weekday-oceanview-seat-20-1o1i9-900.webp)

You can really feel how much care went into every detail, from the space to the menu selection. With a gorgeous view and memorable desserts, I'd definitely recommend a visit if you're looking for a café in Songjeong, Busan.
