## In short

Ichiba Ramen is a ramen restaurant in Sokcho that has moved from near Sokcho Jungang Market to a larger space close to Deungdae Beach (lighthouse beach). Ichiba Ramen has no parking lot of its own, so the writer parked at Yeongnang Lake Park and ordered the special tonkotsu ramen with an old-fashioned bottled cola. The broth is a rich pork-bone stock with no spice at all, easy enough to finish a whole bowl even on a day with a cold.

## Ichiba Ramen moves from Sokcho Jungang Market to near Deungdae Beach

Ichiba Ramen used to be near Sokcho Jungang Market, but it turns out they expanded and moved near Deungdae Beach (lighthouse beach). I suddenly remembered them after a while and decided to visit again.

### Where to park at Ichiba Ramen in Sokcho

For reference, there's no dedicated parking lot. Some people parked along the road in front of the restaurant, but I played it safe and used the Yeongnang Lake Park parking lot. In case that's full, the Deungdae Beach parking lot is also close, about a 5–6 minute walk away.

## Bar seats at Ichiba Ramen make solo dining easy

The old location was small and filled up quickly, but after the move there are clearly way more tables. There are also a lot of bar seats, so it seems great for eating alone. I checked in and arrived early, but true to its reputation as a top Sokcho ramen spot, it filled up fast anyway. By the way, there's a clean restroom inside the restaurant.

Ordering and payment are self-service through the kiosk. I was really hungry, so… I picked the special ramen.

Each table has free-to-use tableware and sauces set out. There's even a little hair tie set up on the table, so you can tie your hair up and really dig in properly.

They're also running a review event — if you leave a Naver photo review, they'll give you one of a seasoned egg, king-size chashu, or a bowl of rice as a service. Leave a Google photo review too, and they'll give you one more.

## How is the special tonkotsu different from the regular tonkotsu ramen?

This is the special tonkotsu ramen (돈코츠라멘) I ordered. Looks pretty delicious, right? It really was tasty and filling. Compared to the regular tonkotsu ramen, this one has bigger rolled pork belly chashu, beef short rib slices, and bean sprouts added. So not only does it look more impressive, the portion is genuinely huge.

![Pickled radish and sauces](https://img.superchart.com/images/sokcho-ichiba-ramen-parking-special-tonkotsu/sokcho-ichiba-ramen-parking-special-tonkotsu-12-ismdf-900.webp)

Each table also has pickled radish and sauces set out so you can enjoy the ramen to your taste. Personally, the pickled radish was the kicker for me — perfect for cleansing your palate between bites.

### Pork-bone broth with minced garlic and no spice at all

First off, the ramen had a deep, clear broth. On the spoon was minced garlic, a Korean favorite. You just mix it into the broth. The broth itself is savory, rich pork-bone stock, and with the minced garlic added, it had this extra umami kick! It's smooth with absolutely no spiciness at all, so it seems great for people who find spicy food a bit much, or for kids.

Partway through enjoying the ramen, I wanted to try a bit of a different flavor, so I drizzled on some sauce! You can customize it to your taste without ruining the original broth flavor.

![King-size chashu and a whole seasoned egg](https://img.superchart.com/images/sokcho-ichiba-ramen-parking-special-tonkotsu/sokcho-ichiba-ramen-parking-special-tonkotsu-16-1izzk-900.webp)

The chashu was also king-sized, and it was so soft it practically melted in my mouth. And the egg wasn't just half — a whole one was included.

The noodles were cooked just right — not too soft, not too firm — and combined with the textures of the various toppings, it kept things interesting bite after bite. I hadn't even had a drink the night before, but it felt like this was curing a hangover anyway.

## Verdict: eating Ichiba Ramen's special tonkotsu on a day with a cold

This was my first time trying the tonkotsu ramen at Ichiba Ramen, and as someone battling a cold, it was easy to eat without feeling like a burden on my stomach. Having the nostalgic bottled cola alongside made the meal feel even more filling. If you're looking for a great ramen restaurant in Sokcho or near Deungdae Beach, I'd recommend Ichiba Ramen. Thanks for the meal :)
