## In short

Suwolgyeonghwa is an ocean-view tea café near Songjeong Beach in Haeundae, Busan. I tried its house-blended Hongyusaeng tea and a Korean dessert set while watching the sea and beach train. Verdict: a lovely stop for tea with a view.

## A hanok-inspired tea café near Songjeong Beach

Suwolgyeonghwa (수월경화) is an ocean-view café in Busan, a one-minute walk—about 50 m—from beautiful Songjeong Beach. I heard it is the first story and starting point of OMG Co., Ltd. The name means “the moon reflected on water, flowers reflected in a mirror,” and the space brings that image to life with hanok-inspired charm and a calm atmosphere.

They even had sounds like rolling waves playing, which made it feel like I had really come to the sea. I loved that.

It has been listed in the Blue Ribbon Survey for two consecutive years, 2025 and 2026. 👍

## Calm spaces on the third and fourth floors

The café spans the third and fourth floors, and I loved how the beautiful, tranquil feeling of a hanok came through the moment I stepped inside.

Suwolgyeonghwa carefully brews tea from its own blends as well as fresh, high-quality leaves sourced directly from leading Korean tea gardens. It also prepares a range of tea-based drinks for newcomers to tea, along with traditional dasik (Korean tea confections) and Korean desserts that pair beautifully with it, every day.

## Watching the ocean and beach train

While waiting, I looked around and found a seat, filling my eyes with the ocean view. The beach train passed by regularly too, so there was plenty to enjoy looking at.

They were also selling goods on one side. Apparently, buying goods in the café gets you a ₩1,000 discount.

## Hongyusaeng tea and the Dalbodeure Tea Set

Such a pretty spread arrived. ꯁ.̮ꯁ

The American-style Gabae was a classic Americano—an easy, crowd-pleasing taste. Gabae Ore, the meeting of milk and espresso, was nutty and delicious.

I had high hopes for the Premium Tea Collection Hongyusaeng, and it was a tea made with clean-tasting black tea plus a harmonious combination of familiar ingredients: yuzu, ginger, and red balloon flower root. They say the vitamin C-rich yuzu, warming ginger, and red balloon flower root—known as the “elixir of immortality of the East”—make for an energizing tea. The bright yuzu and pleasantly spicy ginger worked together so well that it was even tastier than I expected. I fell for this unexpected combination!

The Dalbodeure Tea Set came as a Korean dessert spread with gamtae seaweed and pollock roe financier, whole red bean ang-butter monaka, ganache monaka, black rice sulppang (makgeolli-fermented steamed bread), and an injeolmi (roasted soybean rice cake) skewer.

- Gamtae seaweed and pollock roe financier: a sweet-and-salty harmony of Eastern sea aroma and classic Western sweetness
- Whole red bean ang-butter monaka: red bean paste, French gourmet butter, nuts, and chewy rice cake together
- Ganache monaka: flower-scented ganache monaka made with French chocolate
- Black rice sulppang: black rice steamed bread fermented with makgeolli
- Injeolmi skewer: traditional chewy rice cake with soybean powder, honey, and brown rice

None of them was overly sweet, so each one went wonderfully with both the Premium Tea Collection and coffee. 👏👏

Suwolgyeonghwa gave me the chance to enjoy not only a fragrant cup of tea, but also the unhurried feeling created by beautiful teaware and the space itself! It is one of Busan’s signature cafés for taking in the Songjeong Beach ocean view, where the sea looks different in every season. With the beach train—one of Busan’s major attractions—passing right in front, it is also a great place to take that perfect life-shot photo. I think it would make precious memories even more special.
