At first, the rich, nutty peanut flavor hit right away, followed by the flavor of the beef, so it was much bolder than I expected! As I ate, a subtle mala aroma came through at the end. It wasn’t too strong or harsh; it balanced the weighty, potentially slightly rich peanut flavor perfectly, so the combination worked really well. The broth wasn’t thin like a typical noodle soup either—it was a little thick and clung nicely to the noodles. It even felt a bit like eating creamy pasta, hehe. The bok choy stayed crisp, which was lovely, and it tasted even better with the rich tantanmen. It had lots of seafood and a generous portion too, which I loved. Most of all, the smoky wok flavor in the broth was so my style 🔥 The noodles were springy and chewy, making them great to slurp up with the broth, and T-rang said it was delicious the moment they tried it, haha. I was eating the tantanmen, but I kept getting distracted watching them eat the jjamppong next to me 😂 In the end, I stole spoonfuls of the broth here and there, and that wok flavor got crazier and crazier the more I ate... 🧡 Overall, the portions were generous and we enjoyed both dishes.
