My husband hates waiting in line, so I've never actually gotten to try dessert spots with long waits before — but today I sent him and the kids off to wait in the car, and I stood in line by myself, and I was surprisingly calm about it... When it was finally my turn, I got a good look at Tareudang up close — it had a unique orange-toned vibe, cute and lovely in a cozy little space! The chewy rice cake skin was coated with sponge cake crumbs too, which made it even sweeter, and inside was yogurt cream and whole mango — one bite in and you could really feel the mango flesh and juice. The gold kiwi was perfectly ripened, so it was incredibly sweet and delicious. ## Where Tareudang ranks on a Hwangnidang-gil dessert crawl I've been buying and trying dessert shops one by one on Gyeongju's Hwangnidang-gil, and Tareudang in particular seemed to be the one drawing the biggest crowds! It really shows just how sky-high fruit mochi's popularity is right now — it even made me vaguely think I'd like to open a fruit mochi shop myself! I love dessert in general and tend to seek out good dessert shops wherever I go, and the spots on Hwangnidang-gil in Gyeongju are all clustered together, so they're easy to find, with plenty to see and enjoy along the way.
