## Barirus, the giant Paju café open till dawn

The weather was so nice this weekend that I went on a drive out to a big café in Paju!

📍 2F, 425 Bongseosan-ro, Paju-eup, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do
⏰ Mon–Thu: 10am–9pm & Fri/Sat/Sun: 10am–2am

## How generous is the parking, really

It's a massive scale with room for about 300 cars total. A lot of big cafés in Paju still have tricky parking, but at Barirus you don't have to worry about it at all.

There were also 4 EV chargers set up. There were already plenty of cars, but they've got up to a third parking lot, and when I checked, lot 3 was totally roomy. I got the feeling the lots would never actually fill up completely even at capacity.

When you come up to the 2nd floor, Barirus's signature spot welcomes you. This is also the photo that comes up most when you search Barirus, haha

On the drive over, the green fields and blue sky already loosened up my stuffy mood, but stepping into Barirus, the interior was just as open and airy, true to a big Paju café — my chest just opened right up 😀 Isn't this exactly why people drive out to the countryside 🍃

## Just how many kinds of bread are there

We'd already eaten, so ordering a full meal felt like too much, so I looked at the dessert breads instead — there were so many kinds I ended up filming it. 👇

The pandoro and fruit tarts were so pretty, and since they said they use handmade cream, I made up my mind to try at least one cream-based item.

Croissants made with AOP butter!!!!!! Butter really matters for a croissant, so just seeing this made me even more excited for the bakery.

Such a pretty-looking red plum blossom bread (a bread with health in mind too). Buy 3 salt breads and it's even cheaper!

If we'd come for brunch, I definitely would have ordered pasta with ciabatta. The garlic naan was labeled as a signature menu item. Doesn't it look ridiculously delicious just from the visual!!

Only 2 paninis left made you feel how popular they are, and the chocolate on the Valrhona choco baguette is something a true chocolate lover simply can't walk past!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just looking at it, that thick, dense richness was mesmerizing.

Cutting to the conclusion — the bread prices weren't especially expensive compared to other big cafés, and the taste was great too!! The coffee is roasted in-house at Barirus, and you could really tell they put care into the aroma and flavor. A style everyone can enjoy without much dislike-! They said the decaf is also roasted from premium beans. Since Barirus is a late-night café open till dawn, next time I want to go late and try the decaf too.

### Garlic naan is best warmed up

The garlic naan is overwhelming just in size. With a name like garlic naan, how could it not be delicious-! There's a microwave available, so I cut off what I could eat and warmed it up, and it was great.

The milk pandoro seems to use dairy cream — good 👍 The sweet cream was so delicious.

### Choco baguette

A flavor chocolate lovers will definitely love. It's not chocolate in name only — this baguette is genuinely dense with chocolate. The baguette is packed with chocolate inside, plus the chocolate drizzled on top is perfect.

## A 400-pyeong lawn terrace and glamping tent seating

Living up to the description of a giant café, the 2nd floor terrace is a whopping 400 pyeong in size!!!!!!!! There seemed to be a lot of families with kids on the weekend, and seeing this, I completely understood why. It's a space where kids can run around freely, playing catch or soccer on the eco-friendly lawn. If I had a kid, I'd definitely bring them here to spend time.

The weather was so nice. Here's how the café building looks from the 2nd floor terrace. Take a look at that wide-open terrace view 💛 I bet it'd be gorgeous to come at sunset and watch the sky change color.

The terrace is decorated with a glamping vibe. On a nice day like this, the tent seats were completely full ㅠㅠ There are tables inside the tents too. Nice for catching that glamping feeling, and also nice for watching the kids run around up close.

## Takeout bags, microwave, tray return, and other amenities

You can pack up any leftover bread to take home. Plastic bags and paper bags are well stocked.

Right next to it is the microwave we used earlier to warm the garlic naan :) They said not just garlic naan but anything that needs warming can be used with it.

Along the way out there's a tray return station and restroom. Once you're done eating, just leave the tray as is at the return station.

The restroom is right next to the tray return station, so I stopped by before heading out on the long drive back, and wow — such a pink pink restroom +_+ way too pretty,,,,,🤍

Americano refills are also available for ₩3,000, so if you need one, it's worth refilling before heading home. This was Barirus, the giant Paju café open till dawn that left a great impression right up until we walked out 😉
