## In short

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a Chinese restaurant in Haeundae, Busan, with sea and Dongbaekseom views. Our family shared jajangmyeon, beef brisket jjamppong, cucumber tangtang, and fried eggplant in fish-fragrant sauce, and the little one loved the jajangmyeon. Verdict: a great Marine City choice for kids and big family meals.

Marine City feels so pretty and sparkly whenever I come! There are lots of lovely cafés too, so I think it would be perfectly satisfying to follow a visit to Bueokgan Chinese with a café stop as part of the course.

This is the story of Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch, a well-known Marine City favorite that even my friends have visited again and again. Isn’t Chinese food something everyone, regardless of age or gender, loves? Add a great view and kind service to those dishes, and I think it is just right for a date, a family meal, or bringing along your parents.

## The sea and Dongbaekseom right by the table

The sea is the first thing you see upon entering, so close it feels as though it could reach the tables. With green Dongbaekseom Island in view alongside it, it looks even prettier. A meal with the calm sea beside you—what a treat!

There were lots of guests with little ones, and with children's tableware, high chairs, and dishes kids like, this felt like a solid Marine City spot for a big family gathering.

## Ocean-view seats and private-room reservations

At peak times, the sofa seats directly in front of the ocean view may be reserved, so book ahead if a great view is important to you. There are private rooms inside too. They looked ideal for a private family meal or family event, and since they can take from 4 to 26 people, I made a mental note to reserve one for a future group occasion.

## Atmosphere and prices

If you are worried that the lovely, upscale atmosphere might mean sky-high prices, the menu may change your mind. Prices for everything have gone up these days, but the prices here are reasonable—jajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce) is ₩8,000, for example—and the portions are generous too.

Here is what the private room looks like for reference. Parking in Marine City can be difficult, but we were able to park comfortably at the I'PARK Adelis commercial parking lot, and I noticed many people also parking along the roadside here.

## A family meal ordered by tablet

You order using the tablet at the table. Our family ordered jajangmyeon, beef brisket jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), spicy cucumber salad (it had a name, but I forgot...), and fried eggplant in fish-fragrant sauce. Their black-vinegar tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour fried pork) is famous, but we have had it often, so we tried the eggplant instead, you know. It seemed like a good vegan option, so I think people seeking vegan dishes would enjoy it.

### Rich, savory beef brisket jjamppong

Doesn’t it look amazing? The jjamppong broth was rich, packed full of ingredients, and really delicious. The beef brisket was savory without being overly greasy. Of course, it was tender rather than tough too.

### Cucumber tangtang that went beautifully with Chinese food

I wondered why we had ordered cucumber tangtang (smashed cucumber salad), but once I tasted it, it paired so well with the Chinese dishes. It felt like the kind of banchan (Korean side dish) my husband ate often during his China study-abroad(?) days, and its refreshing quality cleansed the palate, so I think it is a great side to order along with the meal.

Eating at a place with such a great view made the delicious food taste even better—such a good Chinese restaurant in Marine City. Lots of my friends have been here too, and now I understand why every one of them says it is good. The little one ate the jajangmyeon really well, too.

## The finished combination, complete with fish-fragrant eggplant

The combination was complete once the fish-fragrant eggplant arrived last. Since eggplant is not meat, it did not feel too heavy and everything worked together nicely. Even though I am only in week one of my diet...

There are so many different dishes that we ordered this way this time, but now I am already wondering what to get next time, haha. I am curious about the chili shrimp and want to try that too.

![Fish-fragrant eggplant served at the end of the meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/marine-city-chinese-family-meal/marine-city-chinese-family-meal-20-1ia1v-900.webp)

The fish-fragrant eggplant was a special treat, with nutty eggplant and a sweet-salty sauce coming together so well, haha. Once we cleared every dish, we were incredibly full. The prices are more reasonable than at other restaurants around here, so if you are looking for a Marine City restaurant—especially somewhere to take kids and a big family together—Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a good one.
