## Why we picked Seongsan Jejutgan Jeonju Sin-sigaeji for a BBQ dinner with kids

We went to a family wedding in Jeonju over the weekend, and while trying to figure out dinner, we looked for somewhere we could bring the kids and ended up at "Jejutgan Jeonju Sin-sigaeji," a BBQ restaurant in Jeonju Sin-sigaeji 🧑🧑🧒🧒 Since my nieces are 4 and 1, we needed a place that wasn't a no-kids-zone, had menu items the kids could eat, had a baby chair, but was still good enough for the adults too — and that's how we landed here 🤗

I hear Jeonju Sin-sigaeji is the hot spot in Jeonju these days ✨ And among the places nearby, this BBQ spot, Jejutgan, had the most people by far ⛰️ The point of Jejutgan is that you can taste Jeju black pork in a setting that really captures that distinct Jeju atmosphere 🪄

## Can a family of 8 sit at one table? Inside Seongsan Jejutgan

The inside of the restaurant is spacious and comfortable. It was a Sunday evening and the place was almost completely full ✨ It's larger than most other BBQ spots, and thanks to the large tables, even a family of 8 can sit together at one table 🪑 So it's absolutely no problem for family dinners, company dinners, or small group gatherings!!!!! Maybe that's why, when we visited, there were a lot of big families with kids and parents there too!

I absolutely love places that give you barley tea instead of bottled water — little touches of thoughtfulness like this are the best 💛 The basic banchan is mostly the kind eaten with meat in Jeju: bracken fern, baek-kimchi (white kimchi), yeolmu kimchi (young radish kimchi), and pickled radish, plus salted shrimp with perilla seeds, salted squid, pink salt, wasabi, salted hairtail intestines, and even 6 kinds of ssamjang (dipping sauce) 🧂 There's also seasoned bean sprouts, and they're great grilled together with the meat 🫶

One thing that stands out about Jejutgan in Jeonju Sin-sigaeji 🌟 the meat comes out pretty thick!

### Jeju black pork grilled by the staff: hangjeongsal (pork jowl) is the standout

Staff come over and grill the meat completely from start to finish, so all we have to do is eat 😆 Meat grilled well by staff really is the best 🫶 That day, the hangjeongsal (pork jowl) was especially delicious — great texture, and the juices burst right in your mouth 😲

Meat really does taste best wrapped in greens 😗 I like wrapping mine in perilla leaves the best hahaha

## Kimchi hot pot included in the set, and how it pairs with soju

The kimchi hot pot included in the set also came out! It's got bean sprouts, green onion kimchi, pork, tofu, kimchi, and enoki mushrooms, and they said it's ready to eat once it comes to a full boil 😉 The longer you simmer it, the richer it gets — if you drink, you absolutely have to order this>< My brother-in-law drank a ton of soju with the kimchi hot pot lol

### Steamed egg for the kids, cold buckwheat noodles to finish

We also ordered steamed egg, which the kids love, and cold buckwheat noodles (mul-naengmyeon) for dessert! For the kids, mixing the steamed egg with white rice makes a complete meal 🥚 and topping it with well-grilled meat made them so happy! For the mul-naengmyeon, ask staff for vinegar and mustard — don't forget to request them and drizzle it on! Finishing off with something cold and refreshing was really nice ✨

A Jeonju hot spot bursting with Jeju vibes 🌴 That was our review of Jejutgan, a samgyeopsal restaurant in Jeonju Sin-sigaeji! It's a place where you can enjoy quality pork while soaking in the Jeju atmosphere. The restaurant is fairly spacious and has large tables, making it perfect for family dinners, company dinners, and other group gatherings — highly recommended for anyone in Jeonju wanting good black pork 🌟
