## In short

Gaya Kkeutjip is a Korean restaurant in Samgye, Gimhae, serving bossam and oven-baked fish as complete set meals. We visited with two children and ordered two bossam sets plus one extra bowl of rice, and loved the generous side dishes and children’s tableware. Verdict: Gaya Kkeutjip is a great choice for a family meal.

We had completely run out of rice at home, so we had no choice but to eat out, haha. Today’s restaurant is Gaya Kkeutjip (가야끝집)!! It’s been ages since I had a proper Korean set meal, so my expectations are very high.

There’s a large parking lot right next to the building, but it looked full, so we parked on the street, haha. It seemed like they don’t enforce parking during lunchtime.

## Set Menus and Extra Side-Dish Orders

Gochujang bulgogi set (₩18,000)
Bossam set (₩20,000)
Braised skate set (₩23,000)
Oyster bossam set (₩23,000—seasonal, so it isn’t available now)

You can order extra side dishes individually. The marinated raw crab, grilled tofu, and grilled mackerel are included in the set meals, and you can order more if you want~~

Anything else you need can be ordered from the kiosk (free items too~). It looks so convenient that everything is divided up by item like this. Usually you have to call someone over and say, “Could we have more of this?”—so efficient. There were two adults and two kids in our group, so we ordered two sets plus one bowl of rice, but we were too full to order extra side dishes!

## Tableware and Tables That Made Dining with Kids Easy

They give you bottled water, and the children’s tableware was my favorite of any restaurant we’ve visited so far, hahaha. The tray had a separate soup bowl, which made it easy for the kids to eat miyeokguk (seaweed soup), and the side-dish sections were roomy and deep too—so good. Anyway, I liked the tray so much that I looked it up and ordered one separately, lol.

There’s a utensil drawer beside the table, and each table also has small plates and paper cups. Warm tea is available in the dining area too, if you need it. The kitchen has an open-kitchen feel as well, so it looked clean and like a place you could eat with confidence.

## What Comes with the Two-Person Bossam Set

We ordered the bossam set. (₩40,000 for two people.) It includes oven-baked fish, bossam (boiled pork slices), grilled handmade tofu, and marinated raw crab. The dining room was packed, so I couldn’t take separate photos, but it looked like most people were having the bossam set; I also spotted a few tables with the braised skate set.

The wide table was completely filled with food. This is everything from the two-person bossam set plus one extra bowl of rice. Bossam, fish, and even seaweed soup—such an easy, satisfying meal, right?>?

What’s really great about Gaya Kkeutjip is that there’s lots for kids to eat too. There were actually so many families with children there. (High chairs available.)

### From Side Dishes to Grilled Fish and Bossam

Every single side dish was delicious. I was especially happy to see stir-fried gungchae (dried stem lettuce) with perilla seeds, since it’s not easy to find. These are exactly the kind of side dishes you expect at a Korean set-meal restaurant, and the marinated raw crab is great for adult tastes too. Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) served as a side dish can be bad at some places, but even the japchae here was delicious.

The kids went absolutely wild for the seasoned gim (roasted seaweed), hahaha. Wrap it around rice and dip it in the sauce—best ever.

Grilled tofu comes out too.

They also serve a huge grilled mackerel. It isn’t heavily seasoned, so it’s perfect for kids.

Since it’s a bossam set, you can’t leave out the bossam. The pork came thinly sliced, with zero gamy smell; it wasn’t tough or dry, just completely tender. The bossam was seriously so delicious. And the bossam kimchi that came with it wasn’t spicy and was incredibly tasty too, bb.

Gaya Kkeutjip was absolutely perfect for coming with family. We’re going to bring our parents here sometime too!! The staff were sooo kind~~
