One evening while doing the dishes I suddenly got hit with a craving for gamjatang (pork bone and potato stew) out of nowhere? So I told everyone, tomorrow night we're having gamjatang! And the next day, haha, the moment the kids' hagwon let out we headed straight to Ppyeodae Itneun Haejangguk. Here's the review!

## Where is Ppyeodae Itneun Haejangguk in Juchon, Gimhae? Parking and hours

Ppyeodae Itneun Haejangguk Juchon Branch is at 295 Seobu-ro 1637beon-gil, Juchon-myeon, Gimhae-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, and is open 6:00 AM–9:00 PM, last order 8:30 PM. Juchon isn't really part of my usual radius so I don't know the neighborhood streets well, but the area gets pretty quiet at night?? Ppyeodae Itneun Haejangguk stood there brightly lit, all alone in the dark.

Since the restaurant sits on a corner, you can park in a curve following the corner — looked like room for about 7 cars.

## Menu and prices at Ppyeodae Itneun Haejangguk Juchon Branch

Since it's called Ppyeodae Itneun Haejangguk ("haejangguk with real bones"), haejangguk seems to be the main dish.

There's also gamjatang à la carte. For 2 it's ₩35,000, for 3 it's ₩53,000, for 4 it's ₩50,000. But since the à la carte for 2 is ₩35,000 and the set is ₩40,000, that's only a ₩5,000 difference — and for that ₩5,000 you get boiled pork and seasoned crab thrown in, so I'd recommend just going with the set.

I told myself I absolutely had to try the self-serve fried rice but couldn't manage it ㅠㅠㅠ Oh, you can also add extra bones. There's an extra ugeoji option too. The gamjatang's ugeoji (seasoned napa cabbage greens) is so good.

There's à la carte haejangguk too — with bones, and "boneless"! It looks super convenient if you want boneless meat. But bone-in meat is truth, lol.

## What comes with the gamjatang set for two: boiled pork and spicy seasoned crab

We ordered the gamjatang daegahansang for two. The seasoned crab that came with it is so spicy that it's literally named "sharp-spicy seasoned crab," and yes, it's spicy but delicious. (That seaweed on the side was ones I brought along to feed the kids.)

This is the boiled pork that came free with the set. Even as the default portion, it was pretty generous, and my 5-year-old son ate it up well. I can't eat boiled pork myself so I skipped it, but my husband said it was good, so that's the seal of approval, haha.

## How much gamjatang do two people get? Perilla powder and glass noodles included

The gamjatang portion was huge — is this really just for two people..?????? There were big chunks of meat in generous amounts. Perilla powder sits on top, glass noodles (dangmyeon) sit underneath. They had ramen noodles at the self-serve bar so I planned to eat ramen and fried rice too, but I was so full I couldn't touch either ㅠㅠㅠ

The meat fell right off the bone, no smell, soft and delicious. You dip it in the mustard sauce that comes with it. I was eating so intently that my husband asked if I wasn't going to take photos, lol.

And the ugeoji is truly next-level. It's so well seasoned, bb — there's a reason "extra ugeoji" is on the menu.

## Self-serve bar, eating with a child, and sotbap down to the nurungji

The self-serve corner has ramen noodles and kimchi and kkakdugi (radish kimchi). Both were so good we went back for refills, haha. I rinsed some of the gamjatang meat lightly in water for my 5-year-old, and even though it was spicy he still ate it up well.

And though I don't have photos, we also ordered sotbap (hot stone pot rice). I'm the type who has to eat gamjatang with rice, no question, haha. I made sure to properly finish off the sotbap down to the nurungji (crispy scorched rice) too. My husband kept saying while eating that this would make a great drinking snack. Between the boiled pork, the crab, and the gamjatang, it was a full, satisfying meal.
