My husband and I were on a date around Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station and wanted some good meat, so we went to Deo Bareun Jeongyuk Sikdang Gangnam Sinnonhyeon Station Main Branch, famous as a Sinnonhyeon Korean BBQ restaurant.

It's been selected as a Blue Ribbon Survey pick for four years straight, from 2023 to 2026, so I had high expectations going in — and it really didn't disappoint, just as expected.

## Where is Deo Bareun Jeongyuk Sikdang? Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station, with limited parking

The location was super close to the station — you can find it right after coming out of Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 3. There's parking space in front of the restaurant too, though it's not that spacious, so worth checking ahead.

The moment you walk in, all those meat aging chambers tell you how serious they are about aging their meat, haha. The interior is spacious with lots of private rooms, so a lot of people come here for company dinners or business entertaining too — it's a well-known Sinnonhyeon Korean BBQ spot for that.

We visited on a weekday for lunch, and a lot of office workers from around Sinnonhyeon Station were there for lunch too. These days lunch company dinners are common, so there were groups heading in for that as well, haha.

## What comes with the Jeju black pork lunch special?

For lunch, from 11 AM to 2 PM, you can order meat dishes at good value through the lunch special menu, and there were also regular meal options if you wanted a proper Korean set meal.

Since it's a butcher-restaurant, they sell both beef and pork — hanwoo (Korean beef) and Jeju black pork. You could also go with set menus, with a whole-cow set and a pork-by-weight set for a hearty meal.

We ordered the Jeju black pork lunch set for two as the lunch special. The Jeju black pork set comes with raw pork kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) included, which makes it an even better value — a lot of people order this one.

Even though it's a butcher-restaurant, there was no separate table charge — you just pay for what you order, which I liked. The side dishes that came out were simple, though.

## Staff grill every cut over charcoal for you

Being a butcher-restaurant, the meat quality really felt different from a regular restaurant — the color was vivid and clear, and you could tell the meat had a glossy sheen to it.

The meat quality was great and you could clearly see it was well-aged just by looking at it. The grilling was also handled by skilled staff, so we got to taste the meat at its best.

They grilled the thick cuts until nicely browned and cut them into bite-sized pieces for us. Grilled over charcoal, it came out crispy on the outside and juicy inside — grilled to just the right point.

It's not just regular pork but Jeju black pork, so it had an even chewier, nuttier flavor. It was delicious even just eating it plain since it was so juicy, but of course wrapping it up with various vegetables is where it really shines, haha.

The raw pork kimchi jjigae that came with the set was loaded with pork, and the spicy kick of the kimchi cut through the richness of the meat, making it a great side dish. The kimchi was well-fermented, so the kimchi jjigae was really delicious, haha.

## Adding gabrisal (pork shoulder blade) to the lunch set

Since the black pork was so good, we also ordered gabrisal (pork shoulder blade meat) as an add-on. It had score marks along the grain of the meat, which kept the juices in and made it even tastier.

It was tender and chewy, a different flavor from pork belly, so it just kept going down easy. And since the staff did all the grilling for us, we could relax and focus on our conversation while eating — I really liked that too.

## Finishing lunch with bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles)

We were pretty full, but you can't skip bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) as a finisher, right? Haha. Ordered as a dessert menu item, it came in a reasonable portion, so it was just the right amount.

The bibim naengmyeon had a sweet, tangy, spicy flavor that was great even wrapped up together with the meat. You really have to finish with naengmyeon, haha. If you're looking for a Sinnonhyeon Korean BBQ restaurant with quality meat and full grilling service, I'd recommend Deo Bareun Jeongyuk Sikdang Gangnam Sinnonhyeon Station Main Branch.
