My friend and I were looking for a good dinner spot near Dangsan Station when we visited Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch (청운보쌈 당산점), known for bossam and kalguksu. It is close to the station, so getting there was easy, and we had a satisfyingly filling meal from gabri bossam to makguksu. The tender, moist gabri bossam was especially memorable!

## A bossam dinner within walking distance of Dangsan Station

Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch is about a five-minute walk from Dangsan Station, so it was very accessible. Since you can have bossam (boiled pork wraps) and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) together, it looked like a nice spot for dinner near Dangsan Station, a hearty Korean meal, or a drink with dinner.

There are outdoor seats in front of the restaurant too, so on a nice day it would be lovely to eat outside with that outdoor-dining feel. The weather was nice for us too, so we sat by the window! I think it would be a solid option for anyone looking for outdoor seating near Dangsan Station.

## Ordering medium gabri bossam and makguksu

We ordered the medium gabri bossam and makguksu (buckwheat noodles). We considered having just the bossam, but makguksu is bossam’s perfect partner! There was no way we could leave it out, haha.

Just look at that glossy gabri bossam ㅠ_ㅠ I debated between regular bossam and gabri bossam, but seriously, well done me for paying the extra ₩6,000 to upgrade! The meat looked so tender that you could practically see how moist it was, and I could see why people call this a great bossam place near Dangsan Station.

### The spicy sauce is the star of the bossam set

Cheongun Bossam’s basic bossam set came neatly arranged with pork, pickled cabbage, seasoned shredded radish, Cheongyang chili peppers, and spicy sauce on one plate. That spicy sauce was such a key part of it! Gabri bossam has a naturally rich, tender flavor that could become a little heavy, but the pleasantly spicy sauce cut right through that richness.

The meal also came with seasoned greens, bean sprouts, pickled onions, wrap vegetables, salted shrimp, and ssamjang (savory soybean dipping paste). The pickled onions were really delicious too! They were not overly salty, so they paired beautifully with the wraps.

## Sweet-tangy makguksu for a warm day

We ordered makguksu rather than kalguksu. Cheongun Bossam is known as a kalguksu spot near Dangsan Station, but it was a little warm that day, so makguksu sounded more tempting. And it was so good! The sweet-tangy seasoning coated the noodles and vegetables nicely, and it was such a great match with the bossam. My friend thoroughly mixed it and made it into a heart for the photo, haha.

## Moist gabri pork with wrap combinations

I tried a piece of pork on its own first, and it was moist and tender without any dryness. The balance of fat and lean meat was just right, so it seemed to melt softly in my mouth! The distinctive nutty flavor of gabri pork really came through, so I think it would suit anyone who likes a richer, softer taste than regular bossam.

There were so many side dishes to pair with it that it was fun making different wraps and finding your favorite combination! Dani’s top pick was a piece of gabri bossam on pickled cabbage, with shredded radish, pickled onion, Cheongyang chili, and a little spicy sauce. The spicy kick alongside the pork’s nutty richness made it impossible to stop reaching for more!

A bite of bossam followed by a bite of makguksu let the spicy, tangy seasoning refresh the pork’s richness, so we kept alternating between them. Personally, I would recommend the gabri bossam + makguksu combination at Cheongun Bossam!

From the tender, moist gabri bossam to the spicy makguksu, we had a very satisfying meal at Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch. It is close to Dangsan Station and has a fairly spacious seating area, making it a good choice for dinner or a gathering with friends. I would especially recommend it to anyone looking for bossam near Dangsan Station or a hearty dinner nearby. Next time, I want to try the kalguksu too :)
