I love the whole eat-then-café course in Songdo, but for some reason whenever I come to Songdo I always end up looking for a bakery first, haha. The area around Central Park is especially great for walking, with lots of good restaurants and cafés clustered together, perfect for wandering around lightly after a meal.

This time I stopped by Tomoru Bakery in Songdo. It's not far from Incheondaehak-ro Station, and it's also a great stop whether you're walking around Songdo Central Park or shopping in Songdo — the accessibility is pretty good.

There's also Hyundai Premium Outlet and Triple Street nearby, so it'd work well folded into a Songdo outing. I stopped by Tomoru Bakery, the Songdo Central Park bakery, after walking through Haedoji Park.

## A wide bread lineup at easy prices

One thing I really liked about Tomoru Bakery is that despite the huge variety of breads, the prices aren't intimidating. These days, plenty of bakery cafés charge a lot for just one piece of bread, but here they have everything from basic breads to snack breads, meal breads, sandwiches, and cakes — and you can still pick things up without feeling the pinch.

And it's not just cheap — the bread itself is genuinely good, which made it even more satisfying. I especially love plain, savory meal breads like ciabatta or campagne, and salt breads, and Tomoru's breads all felt hearty and substantial on the inside, which I liked.

## What's left late in the evening? Alligator bread is the pick

I went pretty late in the evening, so there wasn't a huge selection left, aw. But this alligator bread was seriously so good!! Highly recommend!!

## From savory meal breads to desserts: what's on the shelves

Walking in, the first thing you notice is just how much bread there is! From sliced loaves, baguettes, ciabatta, and campagne to salt breads, red bean breads, and cream breads that are easy to eat as a light snack — the variety is huge. There are also sandwiches and bagels you can eat as a full meal, plus baked cookies and egg tarts for dessert, so you come in for one bread and end up grabbing a bunch of stuff, lol. Looking at other reviews, salt bread, egg tarts, and ciabatta come up often too — there really are a lot of options.

At a bakery, I tend to like picking one plain bread that isn't too sweet or cream-heavy, and adding one sweet one on top, and Tomoru Bakery made that kind of combo easy. If you like ciabatta, this place is worth trying.

This one's also a best-seller, and it was the last one left, so I grabbed it right away!! Nice and chewy, haha.

## Rice roll made with 18-hour cold-fermented dough

The rice roll is a must too, love it. Tomoru apparently cold-ferments its dough for at least 18 hours, using organic flour, natural sourdough starter, AOP-certified butter, and antibiotic-free free-range eggs. Maybe that's why the bread felt less like a flashy-on-the-outside bakery item and more focused on the actual texture and flavor of the bread itself. That plain-yet-savory taste I love in meal breads came through nicely too.

You guys, the choco rusk and almond rusk are so good. The choco rusk especially is the perfect pairing with wine, seriously.

## Does Tomoru Bakery sell cakes?

Even though Tomoru is a bakery, the cakes were also pretty solid. Looking at the refrigerated display case, they have a nice range of cakes, roll cakes, and sandwiches — and what I liked most was that the cake prices are more reasonable than expected.

These days buying a cake can make you hesitate a bit because of the price, but Tomoru felt easy to pick up for an anniversary or family tea time without feeling like a splurge. With options ranging from fruit cakes to fresh cream and chocolate ones, it'd work well for a birthday or small celebration too. Being able to grab both bread and cake in one place, without needing a separate dessert café, was also convenient.

## Is Tomoru Bakery worth a visit?

Overall, Tomoru Bakery felt less like a flashy large bakery café and more like a neighborhood bakery where you can pick a wide variety of delicious bread at reasonable prices. They pay attention to ingredients — organic flour, natural sourdough starter — while keeping prices relatively accessible, and the fact that you can choose from meal breads to snack breads, sandwiches, and cakes all in one place is a real plus!

Above all, I think taste is what matters most at a bakery, and everything from the plain breads to the sweet ones was delicious across the board — very satisfying. I'll definitely be back, haha.
