## A 24-hour gukbap place near Seonyudo Station

Wanting something warm and filling for lunch near Seonyudo Station, I visited Deundeun Haejanggukbap Seonyudo Station Branch. It was an easy walk from the station, and it is also not far from Dangsan, so it seemed like a good lunch spot for office workers looking for a restaurant near Dangsan Station.

## Getting seated right away at lunchtime

I visited at lunchtime. When I walked in, the interior was more spacious than I expected, with several tables available. I thought a gukbap place would be packed at lunch, but I was seated right away without a long wait. That sort of thing really matters when you are an office worker with a tight lunch break. The staff also guided me kindly. After I got seated and ordered, the food did not take long to arrive, which made it convenient for lunch. When the gukbap came out, the broth was bubbling away in hot ttukbaegi (earthenware bowls). One had an appetizing milky-white broth, while the other was red and spicy, each with its own appeal. ## A filling lunch with gukbap and sundae

I could not leave out the sundae (Korean blood sausage) to eat alongside it. The sundae came in bite-sized pieces and was nicely filled. Having a piece or two between spoonfuls of gukbap made the meal feel much more generous than eating soup and rice alone.

The white-broth gukbap had plenty of green onion, and when I tried the broth, it was rich without feeling heavy. Some lunch days call for a warm bowl of gukbap rather than something overly intense, and this was exactly the right kind of menu for those days. What I especially liked was the amount of ingredients inside.

After skimming aside some broth, I found a generous amount of meat and assorted cuts underneath. I also ate the meat with dressed garlic chives. The spicy seasoning on the chives went well with the mild flavor of the meat, and it was nice to alternate with the gukbap. Between the warm broth, meat, sundae, and chives, I ended up much fuller than I would have expected from simply having one bowl of gukbap.

There was a self-service corner deeper inside the restaurant where I could help myself to any side dishes or seasonings I needed. When eating gukbap, sometimes you want a little more salted shrimp or garlic chives, so it was convenient to take only as much as I wanted.
