## In short

Nahonsha is a solo shabu-shabu restaurant in Mapo, Seoul, about 400m from Hapjeong Station Exit 7. The writer ordered the clear broth shabu and the spicy broth shabu, cooked the meat and vegetables on the individual induction burner set at each seat, and finished with the complimentary fresh noodles and a porridge stirred with egg yolk. With a one-person pot that makes solo dining feel natural and porridge to close, Nahonsha delivers a genuinely filling meal.

## What kind of place is Nahonsha, the solo shabu-shabu restaurant near Hapjeong Station?

Nahonsha is a solo shabu-shabu restaurant at 42 Dokmak-ro, 1st floor, Mapo-gu, Seoul, about 400m from Hapjeong Station Exit 7. It's open Mon–Fri 11:30–21:00 and Saturday 12:00–21:00, closed Sundays, with a break time of 15:00–18:00 and last orders at 14:30 and 20:30.

If you're looking for a clean, satisfying meal in Hapjeong, I'd recommend this solo shabu-shabu specialist, Nahonsha!! There are more and more restaurants these days good for eating alone, but this place is built from the start around individual pots, so it's a great pick if you're hunting for somewhere to eat solo in Hapjeong! With clear broth, spicy broth, miso, and mala shabu, plus sukiyaki on the menu, it's a great Hapjeong restaurant for picking whatever suits your mood. 😊

### Nahonsha from the street

![Nahonsha entrance with plants and wood tones](https://img.superchart.com/images/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish-03-15eb4-900.webp)

It's an easy walk from Hapjeong Station! The shop sits on a building corner, so it wasn't hard to find haha. Plants and wood tones at the entrance give it a more atmospheric vibe than your typical shabu-shabu place. The menu and prices are posted at the entrance too, so it was nice to check them out before going in.

## An induction burner at every seat: why solo dining feels normal here

At Nahonsha, every seat has its own individual induction burner and pot. There's a long row of window seats, so you can sit comfortably alone.

Walking in, the first thing that catches your eye is the long row of window seats. Being able to sit by the window and eat shabu-shabu at a relaxed pace? Sounds great, right? haha

Since every seat comes with its own induction burner and pot, everyone can order what they want and eat comfortably. It's an atmosphere where eating alone feels not~~ awkward at all, making it perfect for a solo meal in Hapjeong haha.

The whole place has a clean, stylish vibe, great for lunch but also for a casual sukiyaki dinner in Hapjeong~!

- Mala shabu ₩15,900
- Tomato broth shabu ₩15,900

If you love that numbing, spicy flavor, the mala shabu is a great pick for a solo mala meal in Hapjeong 😊👍🏻👍🏻

## Ordering the clear broth shabu and the spicy broth shabu side by side

We ordered one clear broth shabu and one spicy broth shabu!! Since Nahonsha uses individual pots, each of us could pick a different broth and cook at our own pace.

![Individual servings of clear broth shabu and spicy broth shabu](https://img.superchart.com/images/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish-09-ajbik-900.webp)

![A plate of meat and vegetables for shabu-shabu](https://img.superchart.com/images/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish-10-a3zxu-900.webp)

The meat comes out with a generous plate of vegetables — bok choy, napa cabbage, mushrooms, sweet pumpkin, and more — and you just cook everything in your own pot at your own pace 😊

The clear broth was clean and light as its name suggests, great for enjoying the ingredients' natural flavor, while the spicy broth had a kick that made it easy to eat without feeling heavy!

![Thinly sliced shabu-shabu meat with a vivid red color](https://img.superchart.com/images/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish-11-3mqc6-732.webp)

Wow, doesn't the meat quality look great? As you can see, the color was a vivid red and the meat looked really fresh! Meat quality really matters in shabu-shabu, and Nahonsha's meat had no off smell at all — lightly cooked, it was soft and clean-tasting. It's sliced thin, so just swishing it a few times in the broth is enough haha.

![A plate of bok choy, napa cabbage, mushrooms, and sweet pumpkin](https://img.superchart.com/images/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish-12-190g0-824.webp)

The vegetables were varied too — bok choy, napa cabbage, mushrooms, sweet pumpkin — and they looked really fresh~!

Time to drop in the fresh veggies haha. Loading them in generously and letting them simmer added the sweetness of the vegetables to the broth, making it even deeper and more refreshing.

Dipping the meat briefly into the bubbling vegetable broth made it soft, with the refreshing veggie flavor added in, clean and light 😍

It's not overly strong, but the broth gets richer the more you eat, so it just kept getting better. Dipping in the sauce here and there gave a different flavor each time, and the veggies and meat just kept disappearing haha.

![Shabu-shabu sauces including peanut sauce and sweet chili](https://img.superchart.com/images/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish-13-qe5hr-900.webp)

There were several sauces prepared too, like peanut sauce and sweet chili, so it was nice being able to eat according to your taste haha.

## Fresh noodles included: how the second round works

At Nahonsha, once you've eaten through most of the shabu-shabu, fresh noodles come included as standard. Following that with porridge makes the meal genuinely filling.

![Fresh noodles included as standard](https://img.superchart.com/images/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish-14-1a11e-900.webp)

Once you've eaten a fair amount of the shabu-shabu, fresh noodles come included too! Adding them to the broth that's been simmered with meat and vegetables was a dream combo haha.

Truly rich, proper broth haha. Noodles eaten, rice eaten too lol. Now it's time for porridge.

### Finishing with egg yolk porridge at Nahonsha

![Porridge ingredients with carrots](https://img.superchart.com/images/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish/hapjeong-shabu-clear-spicy-broth-porridge-finish-15-rvlrm-900.webp)

The porridge had a generous amount of carrots in it, and the subtle sweetness of the carrots was actually a plus for me.

With a little broth left, I added vegetables and cracked in an egg yolk to make the porridge haha. Finishing with the porridge made the meal really filling.

Not too strong, soft and nutty~~~, this finishing dish kept pulling me back for more even when I was already full 😍👍🏻👍🏻
