## In short

Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch is a clear-broth gukbap (Korean rice-and-soup) restaurant on the 4th-floor food garden of Musinsa Mega Store Seongsu in Seongdong, Seoul. A married couple stopped by after shopping, ordered two clear gomtang set meals and one minari tot king mandu (large dumplings with water dropwort and hijiki seaweed) at the kiosk, and ate at a window seat looking out over Seongsu through the floor-to-ceiling glass. For anyone who prefers a light, clean soup to a heavy pork gukbap, Dwaeji Gomtang House is a good match.

I went out to Seongsu and stopped by Musinsa Mega Store. Seongsu has so many good restaurants that it's always hard to decide what to eat, but that day I wanted to shop and also have some warm soup, so I visited Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch.

Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch is located in the food garden on the 4th floor of Musinsa Mega Store, so it's convenient to eat there while shopping. It was nice not having to go find a separate restaurant elsewhere — you can shop and eat in the same building.

It's on the left side as you enter the food garden.

## What is the Seongsu view like from the window seats?

And personally, what I liked most was the view from the restaurant. Since it's on the 4th floor of Musinsa Mega Store, sitting by the window gives you a full view of the Seongsu neighborhood. Usually with a gukbap restaurant you just focus on the food and leave, but here you can eat while looking out through the floor-to-ceiling window, which made the atmosphere feel a bit different.

Especially on a nice day, sitting at a window seat with a bowl of gukbap while looking out at the Seongsu streets would make for a pretty relaxing meal. If you're looking for a restaurant in Seongsu with both great food and a great view, this is definitely a standout point.

You order at the kiosk in the store. My husband and I ordered the clear gomtang set, plus minari tot king mandu as an extra.

## How does the clear gomtang set meal taste?

![Full table setting of the clear gomtang set meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-pork-gomtang-hau-musinsa-view/seongsu-pork-gomtang-hau-musinsa-view-14-lv8jd-966.webp)

Dwaeji Gomtang House has a slightly different feel from a typical pork gukbap place. Instead of a milky, rich broth, its base is a clear, clean pork gomtang, which made it easy to eat without feeling heavy. When you look for restaurants in Seongsu, you tend to see a lot of pasta, brunch, and cafés, so it was refreshing to find a Seongsu restaurant where you can have warm soup with rice.

![Clear gomtang with thinly sliced pork](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-pork-gomtang-hau-musinsa-view/seongsu-pork-gomtang-hau-musinsa-view-15-gl28k-900.webp)

The broth was cleaner and lighter than I expected, and the pork was thinly sliced and served in a fairly generous amount. You'd usually think of gukbap as rich and heavy, but this place felt relatively light, so even the broth was easy to finish without feeling weighed down.

![Bowl of rice mixed with barley](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-pork-gomtang-hau-musinsa-view/seongsu-pork-gomtang-hau-musinsa-view-16-10rri-900.webp)

The rice wasn't plain white rice either — it was mixed with barley, which gave a nice texture when mixed into the broth.

![Gochu-ji served alongside the gukbap](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-pork-gomtang-hau-musinsa-view/seongsu-pork-gomtang-hau-musinsa-view-17-1cqbi-900.webp)

And eating the gochu-ji (seasoned pickled chili) that came with the meal alongside the meat paired really well with the clean broth. The flavor felt a bit more alive when eaten with the gochu-ji rather than just the gukbap alone.

## Minari tot king mandu on the side

![Minari tot king mandu served in a 3-piece set](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-pork-gomtang-hau-musinsa-view/seongsu-pork-gomtang-hau-musinsa-view-18-1sk54-900.webp)

It felt like a waste to just eat the gukbap, so we also ordered the minari tot king mandu. Since the dumplings were filled with minari (water dropwort) and tot (hijiki seaweed), they felt quite different from a typical meat mandu. They paired nicely as a light side dish alongside the gukbap, and since they're a different kind of mandu than what you usually see around Seongsu, anyone looking for a good mandu spot in Seongsu should try them at least once. The minari tot king mandu is currently sold as a side dish in a 3-piece set.

My husband and I both went "wow~~~" the moment we took a bite. The price is a bit on the higher side, but the flavor won't disappoint — definitely recommend ordering it!!

## Is Dwaeji Gomtang House worth it for a light gukbap in Seongsu?

![Table with the clear gomtang set and king mandu together](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-pork-gomtang-hau-musinsa-view/seongsu-pork-gomtang-hau-musinsa-view-20-t2nbd-900.webp)

Dwaeji Gomtang House suits people who prefer a clear, light-tasting gukbap over the typical rich, oily pork gukbap. Pairing the gukbap with gochu-ji felt like a nice twist, and having the minari tot king mandu alongside it made for a satisfying meal. If you're planning to shop in Seongsu, it's worth keeping in mind as a Seongsu gukbap restaurant to stop by on the 4th floor of Musinsa Mega Store.

If you're looking for a restaurant in Seongsu with a clean-broth Korean meal, or want to try a different kind of mandu alongside it, I'd recommend visiting Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch.
