After going out with my children over the weekend, we stopped at Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch (설악막국수 춘천닭갈비 여주IC점). What stood out most was that the staff grilled the charcoal-grilled dakgalbi themselves. It was convenient to eat with the children without having to pay as much attention to grilling the meat.

## What are the restaurant and parking lot like?

The restaurant is at 483 Sejong-ro, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do. We visited while looking for somewhere to eat near Yeoju IC and Yeoju Outlet.

The restaurant was large, and the parking lot was spacious. We arrived at 2 p.m., but customers continued coming in, and I also saw groups dining together.

## What did we order?

We ordered two servings of ganjang dakgalbi (soy sauce chicken), one serving of yangnyeom dakgalbi (spicy seasoned chicken), and steamed rice. Besides dakgalbi, the menu included bibim makguksu, pine nut-water makguksu, doenjang jjigae, buckwheat kimchi dumplings, buckwheat pheasant dumplings, buckwheat pancakes, and rice cakes.

## Is it easier to eat with children when the staff grills the meat?

I did not know this before the food arrived, but the dakgalbi came about 80% pre-cooked, and the staff finished grilling it themselves. I have been to places where staff stir-fry iron-plate dakgalbi, but this was my first time somewhere that grilled charcoal dakgalbi for us this way. I could leave the grilling to them and focus on eating, which made me feel well looked after.

Even after the meat and rice cakes were cooked, the staff kept an eye on them so the meat would not burn. The children also ate the rice cakes well.

## How were the soy sauce and spicy dakgalbi?

My older son ate an entire bowl of rice with the ganjang dakgalbi. I liked the spicy yangnyeom dakgalbi, so I added Cheongyang chili peppers and ate it that way. It was also good wrapped in lettuce or perilla leaves.

We were too full to try the makguksu. I saw other customers eating it, but the dakgalbi was the only menu item whose taste I confirmed during this meal.

## Where can you get additional side dishes?

You could get chilled dongchimi and additional side dishes from the self-service bar. The owner also served us kindly.

## What were the takeout prices and ordering conditions?

When I visited, takeout dakgalbi was advertised at opening-promotion prices of ₩20,000 for two servings, ₩30,000 for three, and ₩40,000 for four. A receipt review event offered a buckwheat pancake or “two types of drinks” as a complimentary item.

Dakgalbi can be ordered from two servings, and the last order was posted as 8:30 p.m.
