Italy Shabu Kalguksu Sejong Eojin Branch is a spacious, comfortable restaurant serving a range of shabu kalguksu and seafood pajeon (scallion pancake). The generous table spacing makes it great for family meals or group dinners, and with high chairs and group seating available, it's especially good for families. It serves hearty meals of fresh shabu-shabu, kalguksu, and even fried rice.

## Where is Italy Shabu Kalguksu in Eojin-dong, Sejong? 3rd floor of Taehan Press Center, next to Homeplus

I visited Italy Shabu Kalguksu, an Eojin-dong restaurant right next to Homeplus Sejong. Here's the exterior of Italy Shabu Kalguksu, a well-known spot in Sejong's Eojin-dong. The entrance has a tiled roof shape that gives it a Korean-restaurant feel.

They cook their rice with Koshihikari rice, the priciest option at Costco. A sign like that right at the entrance really builds confidence that this is a solid restaurant.

True to being a certified 'good price' establishment, they even have mouthwash set up neatly for after your meal.

## Inside Italy Shabu Kalguksu: dining room and what's on the self-serve bar

I visited a bit later in the day, so it was pretty quiet. Here's a look at the interior of Italy Shabu Kalguksu Sejong Eojin Branch.

There were only about two tables dining at the time.

There are quite a lot of tables, and toward the back there's even a private dining area.

This is the self-serve bar — various side dishes, utensils, and sauces are all here if you need them.

The water comes out as hutgae berry tea, haha.

## Rules at Italy Shabu Kalguksu Sejong Eojin Branch: one shabu per person, free refills, free parking

- If your child is 8 or older, they need their own shabu order
- Kalguksu noodles and ramyeon sari at the self-serve bar are unlimited free refills
- Basic side dishes come with your order, and refills are self-serve
- Ordering pajeon gets you free makgeolli
- Pajeon is excluded from the one-order-per-person rule

Our family visited as a couple plus our 4th-grade child, so we ordered three servings of spicy shabu.

Since we'd only been eating aged kimchi at home, the freshly made kimchi here tasted especially good and crisp.

My kid loves kalguksu, which is why we visited. Definitely recommended if you're a kalguksu fan.

The noodle sari for three looked small at first, but once it's cooked the portion is surprisingly big, plus with all the vegetables that came with it we ended up quite full.

There's a sand timer at the table, so you can time your cooking with it.

There's plenty of meat inside too, easy to fish out and eat.

There's a big pile of vegetables all at once, so shabu-shabu is easy to enjoy comfortably.

With so many vegetables, we scooped some out first and then added the kalguksu noodles.

The noodles were really chewy, and the portion felt even bigger once cooked.

Since ramyeon sari refills are free, we added some ramyeon noodles too.

### Finishing the course: vegetable porridge and ice cream for dessert

And to finish, we cooked up a vegetable porridge.

Soft, tasty, and a clean finish. We even added egg.
