Gachiul restaurant recommendation, Chunui-dong restaurant recommendation. There's a Korean set-meal restaurant near Gachiul Station in Bucheon that's great to bring your parents to. Both the taste and the value are so good that it's already a popular spot. Today I'm introducing Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch, a Gachiul Station favorite.

## Where is Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang in Bucheon, and is parking free?

Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch is located in Chunui-dong, Bucheon. It's about 800m from both Gachiul Station and Bucheon Sports Complex Station, so getting there by subway is easy too.

If you're driving, there's plenty of parking space, so you can park at ease. There's a spacious free lot right in front of the restaurant, and there's someone directing traffic, so parking is easy.

## Inside the standalone building and how long the lunch wait runs

Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch occupies a standalone building, so the interior is spacious with plenty of tables. It looked like a great place for all kinds of gatherings.

There were quite a few group customers on the day I visited too. You'll likely need to wait during lunch hours, so it's best to hurry over early. If there's a lunchtime wait, you can register through the CatchTable tablet placed at the entrance.

## Tteuranchae Bapsang at 13,000 won: why a single dish is required

Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch is a Korean restaurant. The main menu item, tteuranchae bapsang, comes with a basic set of banchan (side dishes). For ₩13,000, you get a hearty meal with the tteuranchae bapsang.

When ordering the tteuranchae bapsang, you also need to add one single dish per 4 people. A meal needs a main dish to feel complete, right? The single dish options are borigulbi (dried yellow corvina), soy crab, charcoal-grilled pork, grilled mackerel, and cockle salad.

At the self-bar, you can even eat extra banchan that aren't part of the basic set. Rice is refillable too, so this is a place where you can eat a full and satisfying meal.

Even just the banchan that comes with the tteuranchae bapsang was hearty — all kinds of seasoned vegetable side dishes, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), and braised potatoes, and honestly nothing was bad.

The great thing about Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang is that you can use the self-bar to grab unlimited rice and banchan. The banchan lineup is already good, but being able to eat as much as you want is such a great system. There's clearly a reason so many customers were there even before lunchtime.

### Bean pot rice and nurungji: how we ate four bowls of rice

Ordering the tteuranchae bapsang also gets you a pot rice, a healthy pot rice made with beans. There were so many delicious banchan that after finishing the pot rice, I went back to the self-bar for more rice and nurungji (scorched rice) — four bowls of rice in total.

A doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) that pairs so well with a Korean set meal came out too. It went great with the pot rice, and also worked really well with the bibimbap made from various seasoned vegetables.

After enjoying various banchan and the pot rice, I grabbed more rice from the self-bar and made bibimbap too. The vegetables were so tasty that the bibimbap was totally solid too!! Who knew there was such a great-value Korean set-meal restaurant in Bucheon.

Round one was the basic banchan and meal, round two was making bibimbap, and round three began with the main dish, the soy crab.

### Is the soy-marinated crab at Gim Myeongju worth adding?

This isn't a specialty crab restaurant but a Korean set-meal place, yet the soy crab came out so well made. It was a main dish I couldn't help but praise — not too salty or too sweet, just right, and so good with rice. The flavor of the soy crab never got old and kept calling for more rice. I properly met a true 'rice thief' dish here.
