Before heading out, we were looking for somewhere to fill up with the kid, and found this Sejong gem. After ordering, we checked out the self-serve bar, which had kalguksu noodles the restaurant makes and cuts in-house, fresh kimchi salad put out every morning at 10am, and unlimited 100% bone broth refills. Being able to grab as much noodle sari (extra noodle serving) as you want — the owner's generosity is on another level. Loading up cooked meat with bean sprouts, napa cabbage, bok choy and more gave it a satisfying crunchy texture on top. Once we'd eaten enough meat and vegetables, in went the kalguksu noodles, with an hourglass timer for 5 minutes on the side. They said the noodles are made fresh daily with no preservatives, so all the more reason to dig in enthusiastically. By the time the meat and vegetables had simmered and deepened the broth, adding the noodles made both the soup and the noodles incredibly good — eaten with the fresh kimchi salad, it disappears in no time... And it's not over until it's over. How could we not finish with the egg vegetable porridge. Ladle out some broth, add the porridge ingredients, and simmer once more — all the delicious flavor from the meat and vegetables we'd already eaten comes flooding out, so it can't possibly taste bad. It's a genuinely perfect one-meal course. I feel like kids usually split into two camps — rice kids and noodle kids. This menu covers every kid's preference, and on top of that pets are welcome too — there's really nothing lacking about this restaurant.
