## In short

Sedici is an Italian restaurant on the first floor of Seongsu-dong Arc Valley in Seongdong, Seoul, a short walk from Seongsu Station. For a birthday dinner with a baby along, Sedici seated us at a 4-person table for beef tartare with brioche at 22,000 won, butter pasta at 24,000 won, fried potato gnocchi with sweet corn at 24,000 won and a glass of red wine. With 1 hour of free weekday parking (2 hours on weekends) in the Arc Valley underground lot, Sedici works well for a special-occasion meal you drive to.

It was my birthday, so I went looking for a nice-atmosphere pasta place in Seongsu and ended up at Sedici! Seongsu has so many great date-worthy pasta spots that it's honestly hard to pick where to go. Sedici has a wide range of menu items — gnocchi, risotto, steak, and more — and the space felt perfect for a date or an anniversary. But honestly, the best part was how easy the parking was. Let's get into it!

## What Sedici, a Seongsu pasta restaurant, feels like inside

![Floor-to-ceiling glass exterior of Sedici on the ground floor, a short walk from Seongsu Station](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-01-1io6t-966.webp)

Sedici is within walking distance of Seongsu Station, so it's an easy place to reach by public transit. The ground-floor space has floor-to-ceiling windows, and the bright yellow sign makes it easy to spot.

![Interior of Sedici with 2-seat and 4-seat table seating](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-02-18kb6-966.webp)

There were about 7-8 tables total, I think. The middle of the room is split up with 2-seat tables on one side and 4-seat tables across from them. Maybe because I came with a baby, they seated us at a 4-person table.

![Sedici's atmosphere, well suited to an anniversary meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-03-18ccr-966.webp)

This wasn't a super-casual pasta spot — it felt more suited to a date or a special occasion meal. We were there for an anniversary, and the table next to us was actually a wedding invitation gathering. I think that says a lot about the atmosphere and the range of the menu.

## Sedici menu and wine list

![Sedici's menu listing pasta, risotto, gnocchi, and steak](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-04-h9otj-966.webp)

Since Sedici is known for Seongsu pasta, there were a lot of pasta options, plus salads, risotto, gnocchi, and steak dishes too. For dessert there was ice cream and tiramisu, and the drink menu ranged from beer on up.

![Sedici's separate wine menu](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-05-11uy7-966.webp)

There was a separate wine menu. Honestly, whenever I go somewhere like this I just can't resist ordering wine — it takes the food up a notch, or so I tell myself (excuse me haha). The wine selection was really varied too.

## What we ordered at Sedici: beef tartare with brioche

![A plate of Sedici's beef tartare with added brioche](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-06-1amze-966.webp)
*Beef tartare (+brioche add-on), ₩22,000*

The first dish to arrive was the beef tartare. Add 3,000 won and it comes with brioche! It looked so appetizing and pretty that it was the dish that caught my eye the most.

![Close-up of the beef tartare with sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-07-1kkvd-966.webp)

Tartare is all about letting the freshness of the beef shine, so I was curious how it would pair with brioche, and added it on. The sauce was really delicious. The meat was fresh and the sauce had a flavor that felt familiar yet special — the combination worked really well.

![A bite of the beef tartare appetizer](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-08-egzjl-966.webp)

It was a nice light way to start before the pasta, and it was more than enough to whet the appetite. I especially enjoyed it with a glass of wine — it worked really well as a bite-sized pairing.

Eating the tartare piled on the brioche was much easier than eating it plain, and it felt more like an actual dish. I'd recommend ordering it as a way to wake up your appetite before the main course.

![A glass of red wine ordered at Sedici](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-10-1xccd-966.webp)

We paired it with a glass of wine. I prefer red to white, so I ordered just one glass of red. It was great to sip alongside the food little by little. I'd definitely recommend ordering wine here — I think it would have paired even better if we'd ordered steak.

### Sedici butter pasta, 24,000 won

*Butter pasta, ₩24,000*

This was our main order, the butter pasta. Since Sedici is known for Seongsu pasta, you've got to order at least one pasta dish, right? The name sounds really simple, but that's exactly why I ordered it — I figured a simple dish like this would really let the ingredients and sauce flavors shine.

![Close-up of the butter pasta noodles and shrimp](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-12-15d5z-966.webp)

From the first bite, the nutty richness of the butter fills your mouth. The noodles were cooked just right, so the texture really came through, and the shrimp added a nice bite too. If you prefer flavors that are mellow and savory rather than intense, this butter pasta is the one for you.

If the beef tartare's sauce was the sharper, more distinctive flavor, the main pasta was savory and mellow — the combination worked really well. My husband said this was his favorite dish of the night, that's how good the pasta was.

### Fried potato gnocchi with sweet corn, 24,000 won

*Fried potato gnocchi with sweet corn, ₩24,000*

The dish I was most excited about!! The fried potato gnocchi with sweet corn. The plating alone was gorgeous the moment it hit the table. Perfect for anyone who loves taking photos, or anyone coming on a date who wants pretty food.

![Fried potato gnocchi topped with whole corn kernels](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-15-1rogi-966.webp)

It was so unusual to see actual corn kernels right on top — this was also my first time trying fried gnocchi, so I was really curious. Frying the gnocchi gave it a slightly crisp exterior, while the inside still had that signature chewy gnocchi texture, which made it fun to eat.

![Fried gnocchi tossed in sweet corn sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-16-akhjj-966.webp)

The sauce is made from sweet corn, so it was really sweet. It paired with the gnocchi much better than I expected. All three dishes we ordered had totally different flavor profiles, and I loved that variety. It went well with the wine too.

## Is three dishes too much? What two people should order at Sedici

![Tartare, gnocchi, and butter pasta all together on the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-17-1f52x-966.webp)

The beef tartare appetizer was great for waking up the appetite, the gnocchi was crispy, chewy, and sweet, and the butter pasta was savory and mellow — a solid main.

![Sedici's three dishes set alongside a glass of wine](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-18-30ik7-1200.webp)

None of the three overlapped in flavor or texture, so they worked really well eaten together. If you're going as a pair, I'd recommend ordering an appetizer, the gnocchi, and a pasta rather than just picking one dish. Or an appetizer, steak, and pasta combo would be great too.

![A wide view of Sedici's calm dining hall](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta/seongsu-sedici-birthday-dinner-pasta-19-71abb-966.webp)

Sedici's clean, calm atmosphere made it feel like a really solid date spot, and it was perfect for an anniversary or a special occasion. Eat here, then head to a nice café nearby, and your date is probably a success! Since it's known for Seongsu pasta, next time I'd love to come back and try other pasta dishes, plus the steak.
