Unlike a regular museum, you get to experience everything from a look back at old Korea to vivid media art, and it was so fun and surprising that I fully recommend it. 👍 ## Where is Nohyeong Supermarket and how much is admission? Nohyeong Supermarket is only 10 minutes by car from Jeju Airport, so I'd recommend it as a first-day or last-day stop. It gave off the vibe of peeking into a supermarket from 40-50 years ago, and even though I never lived through that era, I couldn't help but feel nostalgic haha. At the end, a broadcast plays, the door opens, and the black-and-white supermarket corner comes to a close! ## What plays inside the Nohyeong Supermarket media art hall? Once you exit the supermarket corner, an incredibly flashy space appears. I was like, what is this?! but it turned out to just be a passage — haha. The media art screen is bigger than I expected, so it's immersive, and music plays along with it too, making it nice to just zone out to. Famous paintings are shown with a lot of life — some I recognized, some I didn't, but it was still nice to just stare blankly and unwind. Van Gogh's Starry Night, one of my favorites, showed up too, with the stars reimagined as fireworks — so pretty. There was also a yacht floating on the sea, which reminded me of the yacht tour I did at Haeundae in Busan — so pretty and lovely. There were also mysterious zoo-like scenes, and Jeju itself appeared too. For extra peace of mind, I played with the clicker while watching haha. ## Hands-on rooms and the old schoolbook display past the main hall Nohyeong Supermarket doesn't end at the viewing hall — there are hands-on spaces scattered further inside. How did they even find these! So surprising. A dol hareubang holding a tangerine — ridiculously cute. There were also keyrings shaped exactly like tangerines. And my favorite clicky-clicky clickers were there too haha — everyone needs to know the charm of mechanical keyboards. There were also magnetic delivery knives, pens, calculators, and other stationery. I collect a magnet on every trip, and since this delivery knife felt very Jeju and was actually useful, I decided this trip's magnet would be the delivery knife! Even as someone who's not really into museums or art galleries, Nohyeong Supermarket had so much to see — from media art to nostalgic recreated spaces — that it was genuinely fun and immersive. It's close to Jeju Airport too, so it fits perfectly as a first-day or last-day stop.
