Probably the best view among noodle restaurants☆. You order at a kiosk — kiosks are so convenient these days. The bone-broth pork noodle soup is the main dish, but there's also bibim noodles, mala noodles, and rice soup, so there's fun in picking. Choosing is hard~♬. They also have dombe naengsuyuk (cold sliced pork), tteokgalbi, and meat mandu. You order at the kiosk, then bring your own basic side dishes from the self-serve bar. The basic sides are kimchi, dried radish jangajji, cheongyang chili peppers, and ssamjang. Take just the right amount! Being self-serve actually made it more comfortable. We ordered the rich bone-broth pork noodle soup, the flavorful handmade tteokgalbi, and a bowl of rice. Jeju has so many good things to eat, after all. The noodle soup broth tastes clean and refreshing. Turns out grown-ups aren't lying when they call hot soup 'refreshing'!! If you're someone who finds Jeju pork noodle soup too greasy, this broth was light and easy to handle. Pork noodle soup is one of Jeju's iconic traditional dishes. Pork and bones are boiled down for a long time, seasoned only with salt, and noodles are cooked in the broth with boiled pork slices on top as a garnish. Maybe it traces back to how the mainland serves noodle soup at weddings and family gatherings. Compared to typical pork noodle soup, the noodles at Handam Guksu were a bit thinner and had a yellowish tint. There's also scallion and bean sprouts beside the meat. The thinly sliced pork pieces are good eaten with the noodles, and also pair well with the jangajji. The pork is tender and soft. Being able to eat the noodles and meat together makes for a pretty filling bowl. For bigger appetites, there's also a large-size option. I'd recommend the light yet rich bone-broth pork noodle soup, where the base flavors of the bone broth and pork come together. And today's cheat code was the handmade tteokgalbi. I just ordered it on a whim, and it turned out to be that classic sweet-and-salty combo. Protein and carbs together — always the truth! It was delicious eaten with the noodles, and also great paired with rice and jangajji. Definitely order it. Finding tteokgalbi at a noodle restaurant felt like a strange stroke of luck. The portion was generous too. It's a flavor kids would love as well. ### Baby chairs, who eats here, and the service Customers kept streaming in and out. There were lots of young couples with babies and families with kids, and surprisingly, quite a few Chinese tourists too. There's a café street nearby, but this didn't strike me as a particularly bustling tourist spot — yet here they all were. This place is legit. The staff were kind and quick on their feet too. When a baby arrived, they brought over a baby chair right away and made sure the seating worked. After eating, with our bellies nice and full, we headed to Gwakji Beach. A walk by the sea after a meal — I had nothing left to envy. The sea was calling us~~.
