## In short

Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi is a Jeju pork barbecue restaurant 136 meters from Exit 1 of Gwangan Station in Suyeong, Busan. A group of friends grilled pork belly (130g, 11,000 won) dipped in myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) and finished the meal with Jeju pork kimchi stew (5,000 won). With an old-school feel carried on since 2007 and an easy walk from the subway, Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi is a solid pick for a Gwangalli group dinner or date.

I'd been craving good Jeju pork with friends, so I headed to Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi, a place well known as a Gwangalli meat restaurant. Famous both as a Suyeong-gu restaurant and a Gwangan Station restaurant, it's only 136 meters from Exit 1 of Gwangan Station — super easy to reach by public transit. Here's my writeup of a hearty pork belly meal at this Gwangalli favorite.

## What does a Gwangalli meat restaurant open since 2007 look like?

![Old-school exterior sign at Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-02-6zf0h-900.webp)

![Day-by-day hours posted on the entrance door](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-03-1bree-900.webp)

Arriving at the entrance, the warm, old-school sign — running since 2007 — caught my eye right away. The name Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi written cleanly on a white background, alongside the phrase "good meat, good people," gave me confidence in the quality before even stepping in. The glass door had clear day-by-day hours and the regular closing day posted, easy to check before visiting.

## Is there parking at Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi?

There's no dedicated lot, so if you're driving you'll need a nearby paid lot or a spot on a side street. There is room for about one car in front of the restaurant. Since it's less than a 2-minute walk from Exit 1 of Gwangan Station (Line 2), I'd recommend taking the subway or public transit rather than driving.

## Inside the restaurant: is it good for a group dinner?

![Interior with yellow lighting and wooden table seating](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-04-edmam-900.webp)

Inside, warm yellow lighting lit up the space brightly. Neatly arranged wooden tables gave plenty of room, making it look like a great spot for a Gwangalli work dinner or a group gathering.

There were spots to hang coats under the chairs and along the walls, and many other diners were already enjoying their meals with a drink, giving the place a cozy, well-loved feel.

## Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi menu and prices

![Jeju pork menu board on the wall](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-05-1bezx-900.webp)

A big menu board on the wall laid out the Jeju pork options in detail.

- Seasoned ribs (180g, Jeju pork): ₩11,000
- Fresh ribs (130g, Jeju pork): ₩11,000
- Pork belly (130g, Jeju pork): ₩11,000
- Black pork belly (130g, Jeju pork): ₩15,000

Beyond soju and beer, they also had Hallasan soju, Jeju beer, and whiskey highballs, perfect for pairing to taste. We went with the thick white pork belly.

Sides included janchi guksu (banquet noodles, ₩5,000), naengmyeon (₩6,000), Jeju bracken (₩5,000), and doenjang with rice (₩3,000), and a separate menu offered Jeju pork kimchi stew (₩5,000) and Jeju pork noodle soup (₩7,000).

## What banchan (side dishes) come with the meal?

After ordering, a tray full of neatly arranged banchan arrived. There was soft soft tofu topped with seasoned sauce, crunchy white kimchi, and saltily pickled celery and namul (seasoned vegetable) pickles.

![Savory rolled egg](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-11-1b18r-900.webp)

![Spicy fermented green onion kimchi](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-12-3x1x0-900.webp)

![Basket of lettuce, perilla leaves, and angelica for wraps](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-13-e0vft-900.webp)

On top of that, we got a savory rolled egg, spicy well-fermented green onion kimchi, and a basket of fresh lettuce, perilla leaves, and angelica leaves for wraps — lots of fun combos to try with the meat.

## What the Jeju pork belly looks like on the grill

![Vivid red-fleshed Jeju white pork belly](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-14-c6b2d-900.webp)

The pork belly that landed on our table had a vivid pinkish-red color and clean white fat layers — clearly high quality at a glance.

![Plate of mushrooms stamped with the restaurant name, alongside pork belly](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-15-1aox1-1200.webp)

The mushrooms even had the "Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi" name neatly stamped on them — great for a photo. The natural bounce and thick cut of the fresh meat got my appetite going before we'd even started grilling.

## How the pork belly tastes dipped in myeoljeot

![Pork belly with garlic, mushrooms, and bracken on the grill](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-16-1b3fp-900.webp)

Once the grill heated up, we laid out the pork belly along with garlic, mushrooms, and the bracken and namul pickles on one side.

A pot of myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) simmering in the center of the grill gave it a real taste-of-Jeju feel.

![Pork belly grilling to a golden brown](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-17-1ed7q-900.webp)

As the meat cooked, the sizzle and the savory smell of the meat filled the air.

![A piece of pork belly dipped in myeoljeot](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-18-zuhzr-900.webp)

The pork belly, crisp outside and full of juice inside, dipped in myeoljeot, burst with salty, deep umami in every bite.

![A wrap topped with grilled bracken and kimchi](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-19-1bnkt-900.webp)

Wrapping the grilled bracken and kimchi together in a lettuce wrap was also excellent.

## Finishing with Jeju pork kimchi stew for 5,000 won

We ended the meal with the Jeju pork kimchi stew we'd been curious about.

The stew arrived bubbling in a stone pot, packed generously with well-simmered kimchi, thick-cut Jeju pork, and tofu.

The spicy, deep broth cut right through the richness of the pork belly, and I ended up clearing a whole bowl of rice.

## Final verdict: who should eat at Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi?

![Final table spread with pork belly and side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-22-4v0gj-900.webp)

Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi was a Suyeong-gu meat restaurant that delivered on every front — fresh Jeju pork belly, carefully prepared banchan, and a spicy kimchi stew to finish.

![Table view of pork belly on the grill with kimchi stew](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-23-113mz-900.webp)

It's close to Gwangan Station, easy to get to, and the quality of meat for the price was really satisfying.

![Closing scene of the meal at Gwangalli restaurant Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends/myeongseung-jeju-pork-gwangan-friends-24-1f6q8-900.webp)

If you're looking for a great pork belly spot in Gwangalli, or somewhere relaxed for a Gwangalli date or work dinner with a drink, I'd definitely recommend it.
