Friday night calls for meat and soju, doesn't it? I went back to my favorite Kkachisan spot yet again — Gwangseonjip Kkachisan Main Branch, a restaurant specializing in rare pork cuts! This place is already a legendary hotspot in Hwagok-dong, so on weekend evenings during peak hours you're basically guaranteed a wait. This time I deliberately timed my visit for around 9:30pm to outsmart the crowds!

## Why Gwangseonjip is a go-to Korean BBQ near Kkachisan Station

Gwangseonjip is famous as a Kkachisan favorite first and foremost because it's delicious. This was actually my first time trying rare pork cuts here, and I remember instantly realizing how different it was — a spot I've been recommending to everyone ever since!!

If you come with kids, they get a free kids' hamburger steak, plus return-visit coupons are handed out generously, which is why the place is packed with regulars. The service is also fantastic and the staff are super kind!!

### Where to park near Gwangseonjip if you drive

Gwangseonjip Kkachisan Station Main Branch doesn't have its own parking lot, but the Gomdallae Culture Center public parking lot is just a 5-minute walk away! It's spacious and clean, and the rate is only ₩100 per 5 minutes (₩1,200/hour) — cheap enough that you can relax and enjoy your meal.

## Arriving at 9:30pm: no wait, but every table full

At 9:30pm there was no wait, but I was surprised to find the place completely full inside. Last order is 11pm and closing is midnight, yet customers kept streaming in even after 10:30pm. It makes sense — this is the only Korean BBQ spot near Kkachisan Station that serves meat fully pre-grilled, and the popularity shows no sign of cooling off.

Once you sit down, they thoughtfully bring out honey and vitamin pineapple enzyme drink, like a little welcome kit.

You order via kiosk. Leave a Naver receipt review and they'll give you a free clam soybean paste stew, and there's also a no-lose draw event through their KakaoTalk channel. Lots of events going on, so it's worth taking part!

## Best order for two: the mixed platter of ogyeopsal, kkodeulsal and bodeulsal

This time I didn't even hesitate — I picked the mixed platter with Jeju pork belly, kkodeulsal (chewy pork cartilage cut), and bodeulsal (tender pork cut) all served together! The portion was plenty for two, so if you're visiting as a pair, this combo is a must!!!

This time, when we ordered drinks, they gave us a hangover cure drink for each person as a set — for free! My friend saw it and couldn't stop asking, what is this place...?! No way, jaw completely dropped. No wonder this spot is popular for work dinners and dates around Kkachisan Station with service like this!

## Staff grill the pork fully, so no smoky smell on your clothes

At Gwangseonjip, the meat is fully cooked before it's brought to your table, so it takes about 15 minutes after ordering to arrive. Snack on the corn cheese and salad while you wait and it's out in no time! Because it's fully pre-grilled, your clothes don't end up smelling like meat — such a plus!

The meat is already delicious on its own, but it's even better piled with the green onion kimchi. So tangy that I kept reaching for more.

To finish, we added a refreshing kimchi noodle soup (kimchimari-guksu) — the portion was so generous we couldn't finish it as a pair ㅠㅠ

The broth, topped with a light layer of ice, is tangy and clean, cutting right through the greasiness of the meat!! Sometimes the ice melts and the broth turns watery, but at Gwangseonjip the broth stays tangy till the very end — pair it with a bite of meat and it's incredibly good.

With meat fully grilled for you, a value-packed set menu, and service at this level, there's simply no way this Kkachisan favorite could ever be empty! If you're looking for a proper Korean BBQ spot near Hwagok-dong or Kkachisan Station, don't think twice — just go! As a Kkachisan local, I highly, highly recommend Gwangseonjip!!!
