I don't know why, but every weekend evening I start craving tteokbokki (spicy stir-fried rice cakes) haha

But this time eating instant tteokbokki out with Ttiyong felt a bit tricky ㅠ So since we happened to be passing through Yeouido, we decided to grab takeout from Hyeonseonine, a well-known spot at IFC Mall in Yeouido! Since we were eating at home, we asked for the instant tteokbokki uncooked~ We fed Ttiyong dinner separately and simmered ours bubbling away at home — turned out to be just perfect haha

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch sits right along the walkway from Yeouido Station into IFC Mall, so it wasn't hard to find even on my first visit! Hours are weekdays 11:00-21:00, weekends 12:00-21:00, with last order at 20:40.

If you frequent IFC Mall from Yeouido Station, you've probably walked past it before haha

We visited around 5pm on a Sunday, and there were tables both inside and outside, so seating felt pretty plentiful 🤍 It seemed like a great spot to stop by for a light bite of Korean snack food in Yeouido!

## Parking at IFC Mall and takeout tips

Hyeonseonine doesn't offer dedicated parking support. Since we were there just for takeout, we parked, picked up our order, and left right away, and we got free parking by exiting within 30 minutes! Though the free conditions may vary by visit, so be sure to check 👍

Since it was uncooked takeout, prep was quick too. Perfect for a short stop-by-and-go like ours haha

For exact prices, check the menu board in person~! The menu was more varied than I expected too. From regular tteokbokki to instant tteokbokki, fried snacks, sundae (Korean blood sausage), and mini gimbap, it seemed like a great spot to order a bunch of dishes with a group 😋 We came that day set on instant tteokbokki, so we picked it without hesitation! Since we'd be eating at home, we asked for it uncooked 🍱

I worried we'd need to prep something extra at home for the uncooked version, but every ingredient was already ready to go, which made it way easier than expected haha Plus, they even included a cooking instruction sheet, so we just had to follow it!

## How to boil the Hyeonseonine tteokbokki kit at home

We followed the included instruction sheet exactly! This is for 2 servings.

- Dissolve the seasoning sauce in 600ml water and bring to a rolling boil
- Add the rice cake, fish cake, vegetables, and noodles in order
- Once the sauce is boiling, lower the heat and simmer 2 more minutes to finish 🎉

It was almost too simple to even call cooking lol And visually, it was exactly the instant tteokbokki I'd been craving 😍 Being able to eat tteokbokki right beside Ttiyong while feeding him dinner was so convenient~!!

## How spicy is Hyeonseonine's medium level?

Since I can't handle much spice, we ordered medium. It wasn't as spicy as I expected, just deliciously spicy in a good way! My husband, on the other hand, felt it was a bit mild, so he added the chili flakes they included on the side lol

That's actually the nice part — even sharing one pot, you can each adjust the spice to your own taste! Ordering medium and letting only the spice-lovers add chili flakes is highly recommended 👍

## Is two servings enough to share?

The 2-serving portion was just right for me. With not just rice cake and fish cake but vegetables, dumplings, egg, and ramyeon noodles too, it filled us up more than expected haha

I was full and satisfied with that, but my husband couldn't bear to waste the leftover sauce, so he grabbed some rice and mixed it in lol Anyone else relate to wanting rice with the leftover sauce after instant tteokbokki?? haha We didn't bother making fried rice, just mixed it in as is, and still finished off the meal nice and thoroughly 🍚

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is great to eat at in-store, but on days like mine when eating instant tteokbokki out with a kid feels tricky, packing it uncooked and boiling it at home is a totally great option! Every ingredient is prepped and all you have to do is follow the instructions, so you can enjoy instant tteokbokki super easily 🤍
