After some thought, we went to Sambaekga, our go-to jokbal spot in Sindorim. ## Where is Sindorim Sambaekga? Hours and parking Sindorim Sambaekga is right there once you cross the street from Sindorim Station Exit 1, in the Homeplus building (1st floor of Sindorim Prugio 1cha). It's open daily 11:00–21:40, with a break time on weekdays from 15:00–16:00, and no break time on weekends or holidays. It was really convenient to visit by public transit. We debated what to order and ended up going with the samsbaek jokbal and kalguksu set. Besides jokbal, they also do bossam, so there's the fun of choosing between menus. With the barley rice, mixing it with the yeolmu kimchi was so good. Yeolmu, gochujang (red pepper paste), and sesame oil together — such a perfect combo with kalguksu.. It was more popular than I expected, we waited a bit before getting seated, and I could tell why it's so popular. ## How does the Sambaek jokbal taste? Herbal aroma, no pork smell The samsbaek jokbal has absolutely no gamey meat smell, and the distinct medicinal herb aroma along with the sweet-savory seasoning is soaked in just right, not overdone. It felt like the meat just kept coming endlessly. Sindorim Sambaekga's kalguksu is really great for a filling, hearty meal. They say it's handmade kalguksu with 100% domestic fresh noodles in a rich broth simmered from 12 high-quality ingredients, and it really was something else. The portion was really generous too. As soon as it came out, we portioned some into individual bowls and tasted the broth first — it was rich yet refreshing. The taste changes a little depending on whether you use perilla leaf or chives.. the chives were tasty too, and especially the kimchi was great.. ## What worked well for a family dinner at Sindorim Sambaekga A Sindorim Station favorite we visited with family — Sambaekga is great for jokbal and bossam. Being able to enjoy jokbal and kalguksu together is wonderful, so give it a try sometime.. The tender jokbal is great for the whole family to enjoy together. The hearty, rich handmade kalguksu is a special dish that wins over kids and adults alike.
