There were lots of options, including lunch specials available only at lunchtime. Rather than feeling like a place where you rush through a meal and leave, it had an atmosphere that made it nice to take your time with a drink or beverage. ## Meat sizzling on the grill Once the meat arrived and the grill began to heat up, it was time for the meal to really begin! The meat sizzled as soon as it hit the grill, and I think that is part of the charm of a Korean BBQ restaurant. I put a reasonable amount on first, turned each piece over, and grilled it until golden. I put the thick-cut pieces over the charcoal and grilled both sides until nicely browned. As the fat rendered from the meat, the charcoal aroma joined in, making it look delicious even before tasting it. I cut off a properly cooked piece and ate it right away, and it was definitely good while piping hot. Jeongyukdo also has meal options such as Hanwoo soybean-paste stew, Hanwoo dried-cabbage soup with rice, and galbitang (beef short-rib soup), along with mul naengmyeon (cold broth noodles) and bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles), which go well with meat.
