## In short

Marblejeong is a Korean beef restaurant about two minutes from Ttukseom Station Exit 5 in Seongdong, Seoul. I had a three-cut Korean beef grill set and doenjang sulbap, and the staff cooked the meat for us. The distinct textures and rich flavors of each cut made for a satisfying lunch.

Wanting a slightly special lunch in Seongsu, I visited Marblejeong (마블정). I tried three cuts in the two-plus-grade Korean beef assorted grill, along with doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice soup).

## How do you get there from Ttukseom Station, and where can you park?

Marblejeong is on the second floor at 57 Seongsu-il-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. It is about a two-minute walk from Ttukseom Station Exit 5; go up in the building with Kia Auto Q on the first floor.

The original post listed hours as 11:00–24:00 on weekdays and 11:00–23:00 on weekends, with last orders at 23:00 and 22:00 respectively. It also listed a free dedicated parking lot beside the restaurant, free parking at the first-floor Kia Auto Q after 6 p.m., and paid parking at the nearby SK Techno Building.

## What were the conditions for the lunch assorted-grill discount?

At the time of the original post, the two-plus-grade Korean beef assorted grill was 20% off when ordered before 2 p.m. We visited at lunch and received the discount. We were also told takeout was 20% off, though the original post did not specify which takeout items or time conditions applied.

## What was the atmosphere like, and was there space for groups?

The Korean beef display case at the entrance was the first thing I noticed. The meat was neatly arranged, and the dining room felt more spacious than I expected.

Overall, it had an upscale atmosphere, with separate private rooms farther inside. I came for lunch, but it also seemed suited to a date, company dinner, or group gathering.

## Which cuts come with the two-plus-grade Korean beef assorted grill?

My assorted grill included upjinsal, sirloin, and chadolbagi (thinly sliced beef brisket). Each cut looked different in color and marbling, and I liked being able to try all three at once.

## How were the side dishes and self-service bar set up?

There was a good variety of side dishes to pair with the meat, making it easy to try different combinations. I also enjoyed the salad. I could get more of the tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) served as side dishes from the self-service bar.

## How did the staff-grilled Korean beef taste by cut?

The staff grilled all of the meat themselves. It was convenient to eat the meat as soon as it was cooked to a good point, without having to watch how it was cooking.

### What was the sirloin texture like?

The sirloin I tried first was juicy, with a pronounced nutty flavor. It was tender rather than tough, and was personally one of the cuts I enjoyed most.

A light dip in salt brought out the meat's own nutty flavor even more.

The asparagus and button mushrooms we ate alongside it were also a nice extra.

### How were upjinsal and chadolbagi different?

The upjinsal had a moderate amount of fat, and its savory richness built as I chewed. It was tender with a pleasantly chewy texture.

The chadolbagi was thin, so it cooked quickly on the grill. The staff timed it for us, and it had a rich, savory fat flavor. Eating the three cuts in sequence made their differences in texture and flavor clear.

## How was the doenjang sulbap with the meal?

Meat can start to feel a little rich when you keep eating it, so the hot doenjang sulbap in the middle of the meal paired well with it. With its earthy soybean paste flavor and rice, it made for a filling lunch alongside the assorted grill.

## What dessert did you have after the meal?

At the time of my visit, I could receive Häagen-Dazs ice cream by taking part in a receipt review event. I finished the meal with ice cream, and they also gave me yakgwa (honey cookie).

![Häagen-Dazs received through the post-meal review event](https://img.superchart.com/images/marblejung-seongsu-hanwoo-lunch/marblejung-seongsu-hanwoo-lunch-23-85ls7-900.webp)

What stayed with me from this meal was the fun of comparing the three cuts and the ease of having the staff grill them directly. The doenjang sulbap made it filling, and the spacious setting and private rooms made it worth considering for a gathering as well.
