Hi, this is Bari~ My husband and I love bread so much that we can never just walk past a good bakery haha. This time we heard there was a café in Jayang-dong that really nails croissants and pastries, so we went to check it out.

It's a bakery café where the dough is mixed and baked in-house every day, and apparently you can enjoy not just the bread but coffee blended by a roaster with 15 years of experience. Today I'm introducing Stack Bakery :) If you're looking for a Konkuk Univ. café where you can also eat great bread, or a café near Ttukseom Hangang Park to stop by after a riverside walk, this one's worth checking out.

## Location and exterior of Stack Bakery near Konkuk Univ.

Stack Bakery is a standalone-building bakery café at 5 Ttukseom-ro 31-gil, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, using both the 1st and 2nd floors. It offers Wi-Fi, takeout/delivery, group seating, a waiting area, mobile payment, and is pet-friendly.

Stack Bakery in Konkuk was clean-looking from the outside. Since the café occupies a standalone building across two floors, it was easy to find even on a first visit. There are outdoor tables outside the 1st floor, which looked great for a coffee on a nice day. It'd also be nice to pair with a walk from the Han River, so I'd group it in with cafés near Ttukseom Hangang Park.

## 1st floor bread display: so many pastry options

Walking into Stack Bakery's 1st floor, the smell of freshly baked bread hits you right away. The lineup centers on French-style pastries like plain croissant, kaya croissant, kouign-amann, and pain au chocolat.

The very first thing I noticed the moment I walked in was the smell of bread. The nutty, buttery aroma of freshly baked bread filled the whole shop, and even before I'd decided what to buy, it was the kind of smell that made me want to grab a bit of everything haha. As someone who loves bread, my mood was already lifted from that moment.

The salt bread at Stack Bakery is delicious too, but personally, what caught my eye most while browsing was the range of pastries. From plain croissant to kaya croissant, kouign-amann, pain au chocolat, and more, they focus on French-style pastries. They say everything is hand-kneaded and baked fresh from dawn every day, and pastries in particular take a lot of hand-work to build those pretty layers. So as I looked at each one, I thought, 'this place must really be good at pastries.' The visible butter layers looked crisp just from the sight of them.

Before picking our bread and heading upstairs, we snapped a photo at the photo zone near the entrance haha. It's not just a bakery — the space is decorated with a nice vibe too, making it a good Konkuk café for eating bread, drinking coffee, and taking photos.

Now let's head upstairs with our bread.

## 2nd floor seating and our order that day

Stack Bakery's 2nd floor has floor-to-ceiling window seats and tables of various shapes, so it works whether you're alone or with a group. That day we ordered a green tea latte ₩5,500, croissant set ₩8,000, Maldon salt bread ₩3,000, choco flan ₩5,200, and Nutella-and-peanut pastry ₩5,800.

Upstairs was also pretty crowded. Some customers just took bread to go, but many were staying to eat with coffee. Being able to enjoy great bread and coffee in one place seems to be why so many people come here looking for a Konkuk café. It didn't feel awkward sitting alone, and it also had a good vibe for a couple's date.

By the window, there are seats where you can sit looking out at the view outside. The variety of table shapes makes it good for quietly sipping coffee alone or coming with a group. Here's what we ordered that day.

- 🍵 Green tea latte ₩5,500
- ☕ Croissant set ₩8,000
- 🥐 Maldon salt bread ₩3,000
- 🍫 Choco flan ₩5,200
- 🥜 Nutella-and-peanut pastry ₩5,800

Yep... we're basically bread-obsessed haha.

## How does the ₩5,500 green tea latte taste?

Stack Bakery's green tea latte isn't the overly sweet type — the slightly bitter green tea flavor pairs well with the nuttiness of the milk. We picked green tea latte and americano for drinks.

It's sweet with a nutty edge, which made it good to drink alongside the pastries.

![Drink cup with the STACK logo](https://img.superchart.com/images/stack-bakery-konkuk-nutella-peanut-pastry/stack-bakery-konkuk-nutella-peanut-pastry-16-13240-900.webp)

The STACK logo right on the cup! Little details like this are so photogenic ❤️ From the cup to the overall vibe of the shop, everything felt clean and put-together, making it a nice spot for a date too.

## Croissant and choco flan taste

Stack Bakery's croissant was crisp enough to make an audible crackle the moment you bite into it. The choco flan combines sweet chocolate flavor with the crisp texture of pastry layers.

And here are all the breads we ordered! We meant to just try one or two, but the table ended up completely full of bread haha. We wanted to know which breads were good at Stack Bakery in Konkuk, so we ordered a bit of everything.

![Table full of ordered bread](https://img.superchart.com/images/stack-bakery-konkuk-nutella-peanut-pastry/stack-bakery-konkuk-nutella-peanut-pastry-18-slgej-900.webp)

![Plate with croissant and choco flan](https://img.superchart.com/images/stack-bakery-konkuk-nutella-peanut-pastry/stack-bakery-konkuk-nutella-peanut-pastry-19-1nbze-900.webp)

The croissant gives off a loud crisp sound the moment you bite into it. 'Crackle' really is the right word for the texture! The outside shatters into thin crisp layers while the inside stays moist with real butter flavor. It felt like the textbook definition of a crisp-outside, moist-inside croissant. The choco flan also combines sweet chocolate flavor with the pastry's crisp layers, so anyone who likes sweet desserts would enjoy it.

### Maldon salt bread ₩3,000

Stack Bakery's Maldon salt bread had just the right amount of Maldon salt on top. The nuttiness of the butter and the saltiness balance each other out perfectly.

We also tried the salt bread. It has Maldon salt sprinkled on top, and the amount was just right. A little more and it might have been too salty, but the balance between the buttery richness and the salty edge was spot on. The inside is plain and soft, the kind of bread you keep reaching for. Be sure to try a salt bread alongside the pastries at Stack Bakery in Konkuk.

### My pick of the day: Nutella-and-peanut pastry ₩5,800

My personal pick that day at Stack Bakery was the Nutella-and-peanut pastry. Inside the crisp pastry is a combination of rich chocolate Nutella flavor and nutty peanut.

The moment I bit in I thought, 'ah, this is a real sugar recharge' haha. Sweet and rich, but the pastry itself is crisp, so the combination of heavy chocolate flavor and light bread texture worked really well. It went great with coffee too.

## Wrap-up: who would I recommend this to

On our way out, I took one more look at the outdoor seats. On a nice day, I'd love to just sit there with a coffee and a croissant and zone out with no thoughts at all haha.

It's a good spot for those looking for a café near Ttukseom Hangang Park to rest at after a river walk, and if you love bread, it's worth going out of your way for. Especially if you like pastries, I'd recommend visiting Stack Bakery at least once. With house-made croissants and pastries plus coffee all in one combo, it's also a great date spot for bread-loving couples :)
