## In short

Kueodeukkutteu is a two-floor Western restaurant on Sinpung-ro in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, with an outdoor terrace that welcomes dogs. On a date with her boyfriend, the writer tried the carrot duck aglio olio, shrimp rosé pasta, and perilla oil ice cream, and the unusual combinations all worked surprisingly well. It's a solid date spot for going from brunch to dessert in one place before a stroll through Haenggung-dong.

Today I want to introduce a place I discovered on a date with my boyfriend in Haenggung-dong, Suwon — great vibe, great food. Haenggung-dong is full of pretty cafés and restaurants, but this time we were looking for somewhere a bit special where we could get brunch, pasta, steak, and dessert all in one spot, and that's how we ended up at Kueodeukkutteu :)

![Exterior of Kueodeukkutteu in Haenggung-dong](https://img.superchart.com/images/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta-01-19t40-966.webp)

![Outdoor terrace seating at Kueodeukkutteu](https://img.superchart.com/images/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta-02-f9rb3-966.webp)

On nice-weather days you can eat out on the outdoor terrace, so it's a great fit if you're looking for a Haenggung-dong date spot with an outdoor dining ('yajang') feel.

## Kueodeukkutteu location, parking, and hours

- Address: 54 Sinpung-ro, 1st & 2nd floors, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea
- Hours: Daily 11:30–20:30 (last order 19:30)
- Parking: Street parking near the restaurant is difficult, so the Jangan-dong public parking lot is recommended

From the Jangan-dong public parking lot it's only about a 1–2 minute walk to the restaurant, closer than you'd expect. Since Haenggung-dong gets busy with traffic on weekends and holidays, I'd recommend giving yourself a little extra time.

## A place with real character in Haenggung-dong

Kueodeukkutteu is spread across two floors, and instead of feeling like your typical pasta place, it has this warm atmosphere like a converted house.

![Interior of Kueodeukkutteu, styled like a converted house](https://img.superchart.com/images/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta-03-o6ag0-966.webp)

We visited as a couple, and it was a really nice atmosphere for a date meal. The highlight was definitely the outdoor terrace — on a nice day you can eat outside and really soak in the Haenggung-dong vibe while you dine. The interior is also cozy, thanks to the wood tones and warm lighting, so it works just as well on a day when the weather isn't great.

## Can you bring your dog?

Here's something that really caught my eye at Kueodeukkutteu — it's a dog-friendly restaurant.

![Pet-friendly notice posted at the entrance](https://img.superchart.com/images/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta-06-15lwj-966.webp)

There was a sign posted at the entrance explaining that dogs up to 15kg are allowed inside, while dogs over 10kg need to use the outdoor terrace. There was also guidance about checking vaccination records and using a carrier or dog hat/harness, so if you're planning to visit with your dog, it's worth checking the conditions beforehand. There was also a note about using the designated bin for pet waste. 🐶

## What we ordered

![Two plates of pasta set on the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta-07-fhlbl-966.webp)

![Order of pasta and dessert together](https://img.superchart.com/images/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta-08-1v0ps-966.webp)

Two pastas plus dessert! The combination was pretty solid for two people to share.

### Carrot Duck Aglio Olio ₩17,000

![Carrot duck aglio olio topped with julienned carrot](https://img.superchart.com/images/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta-09-gtuym-966.webp)

This was the dish that caught my eye first. The name alone — carrot + duck + aglio olio — made me curious about what it would taste like, and the look of it was unique too. Thinly julienned carrot was piled high on top of the pasta, plated together with duck meat, so the colors were pretty as well. Once I tasted it, the carrot and duck combination worked better than I expected.

The savory flavor of the duck meat layered nicely on top of the classic aglio olio oil base, and the carrot added a crunchy texture throughout, which I loved. It's definitely a different experience from your everyday shrimp or bacon aglio olio! If you're in the mood for a slightly unusual pasta, this is one I'd recommend.

### Shrimp Rosé Pasta ₩17,000

And then there was the shrimp rosé pasta that both my boyfriend and I really enjoyed! You can tell from the photo that the sauce is generous — the thick yet smooth rosé sauce came with shrimp and tomato mixed in, giving it a savory flavor with a slight tang. Notably, instead of the usual long pasta noodles, they use short, thick noodles like in the photo, which were great for scooping up with the sauce. The sauce clung well to the noodles, so with every bite you really got that smooth rosé flavor. Switching back and forth between this and the carrot duck aglio olio, the flavors were different enough that we never got tired of eating.

### Perilla Oil Ice Cream ₩5,000

And one of the dishes I was most curious about that day! It's the perilla oil ice cream, ₩5,000.

![Perilla oil ice cream topped with savory toppings](https://img.superchart.com/images/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta-12-16g1n-966.webp)

![A spoonful of perilla oil ice cream](https://img.superchart.com/images/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta-13-1cvxr-966.webp)

At first I thought, 'perilla oil in ice cream...?' but I was curious so I ordered it hahaha. As you can see in the photo, it comes with smooth ice cream topped with a generous amount of savory toppings, and underneath there's a savory perilla oil flavor. It's definitely different from your usual sweet ice cream. Adding a savory, slightly salty note to the sweet ice cream worked surprisingly well together. Eating it as dessert after the pasta gave a really clean finish to the meal. If you like trying unusual desserts, this is worth ordering at least once.

## Why it was a great date with my boyfriend

We visited during a date in Haenggung-dong, and overall it was a pretty satisfying spot for a date meal. More than just eating and leaving, the space itself was pretty, so it was nice to chat while eating, and it matched Haenggung-dong's distinctive, atmospheric charm well.

![A cozy table seat at Kueodeukkutteu, great for a date](https://img.superchart.com/images/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta/haenggung-dong-terrace-pet-friendly-pasta-14-qytll-966.webp)

On a nice-weather day, eating on the outdoor terrace would make the atmosphere even better. Rather than finding a separate café and then a separate restaurant in Haenggung-dong, it's nice to handle brunch, the meal, and dessert all in one place, then continue on with a walk around Haenggung-dong as your date course.

## How to order and other menu items

You order using the QR code at the table.

It was convenient to browse the menu slowly and then order on my phone. Besides pasta, there's also steak, risotto, salad, French toast, and more, so it's a menu that works whether you're visiting for brunch or dinner! Current menu items include the Kueot Steak, truffle green pea risotto, carrot duck aglio olio, lemon butter pasta, and shrimp rosé pasta. Next time I'd like to try the steak or risotto we didn't get to this time. 👀

## Recommended as a Haenggung-dong date course

There are so many pretty cafés and restaurants in Haenggung-dong that it's hard to decide where to go, but Kueodeukkutteu will suit you well if you're looking for:

- A Haenggung-dong date spot
- A good pasta restaurant
- A restaurant with an outdoor terrace
- A good brunch spot
- A dog-friendly restaurant
- A restaurant with a nice atmosphere

In spring and fall when the weather is nice, eating on the terrace with that outdoor dining feel seems especially appealing, and it's a great place to visit when you want to enjoy good pasta on a Haenggung-dong date with your boyfriend, like we did.

If you're looking for a place to go on a date in Haenggung-dong, try building a course around it — eat here, then wander the Haenggung-dong alleys and end up at a café. We'd love to come back next time and try other menu items too. :)

> A charming restaurant for a Haenggung-dong date, where you can enjoy unusual pasta and dessert together on a lovely terrace!
