Once we packed up the campsite, it was lunchtime in no time! We had originally planned to have something light, like a bowl of galbitang (beef short rib soup), then head to our next stop. While looking for a lunch that would be filling without being too much, I found a nearby restaurant with great reviews~~!! It was close to the interchange on the way home, and perfect for grabbing coffee nearby afterward!! For a group visiting from central Yangyang, Naksansa Temple, or Yangyang Market, using the pickup service instead of moving several cars would be just right. The charcoal-grilled rib aroma filling the restaurant... It was gently sweet with a smoky note, and I was so drawn in that, before we had even sat down, haha, I told my husband, “Today, it has to be ribs.”!! There were plenty of group tables, and the staff and owner guided us so kindly! There was also a private room for up to 24 people, with a completely separate entrance!! Even the view of the onggi jars was healing~~ I asked the owner a little about it, and he said the separate room is often used for company dinners, family events, and village gatherings; occasionally celebrities use it for a private meal too. The lettuce served for wraps was large and fresh. It was a variety called Kaipira lettuce. They said it is certified sterile, pesticide-free lettuce grown hydroponically at a smart farm run by the Yangyang County Association for the Physically Disabled!! The ribs are made with carefully selected fresh meat, hand-scored and sliced, then marinated by hand in their house special sauce. Freshness is their top priority, so even though the meat could be stored longer, they prepare small batches frequently and use them within three days!! I tasted the neatly plated banchan (Korean side dishes) one by one, and the care was incredible. Coffee-tree charcoal does not spark, which means families with young children can dine with peace of mind!! The chilled broth had a thin layer of ice on top, generously topped with house-made baekgimchi. The noodles were cooked springy too, a perfect match for the kimchi’s crisp texture!!! As befits the restaurant’s signature noodle dish, the savoriness of the sauce was so good!! The pleasantly spicy yet sweet sauce clung nicely to the chewy green noodles, haha. I saved a piece of marinated rib and wrapped it with the naengmyeon noodles—amazing!!
