I was looking for somewhere to eat out with my mom in Nowon and ended up at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch (쿠우쿠우 노원점)! The scale of this place was seriously enormous from the start. I think it may be the biggest buffet in Seoul I have ever been to.

## Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch at weekday opening time

It opens at 11, so we ran there right when it opened. It seemed relatively quiet because it was a weekday, but I heard weekends can be busy enough that parking may be difficult. Every Saturday, you can get up to four hours of free parking at the Hagye Technotown underground lot, so keep that in mind if you visit on a Saturday!

### Prices and time slots

- Adults: weekday lunch ₩27,900 / weekday dinner ₩31,900 / weekends and public holidays ₩35,900
- Elementary school students: weekday lunch ₩16,900 / weekday dinner ₩17,900 / weekends and public holidays ₩18,900
- Preschool children (36 months and older): ₩9,900
- Weekday lunch is before 5 PM; weekday dinner is after 5 PM
- A 1 hour 30 minute time limit applies when there are many waiting guests

There is an ₩8,000 difference between weekday lunch and the adult weekend/public-holiday price, so weekday lunch seems like a good option if you want value. Once you see the variety and quality of the food I am about to introduce, you will know it is amazing value.

## More than 400 seats and room for family gatherings

We took the elevator to the sixth floor! They say there are more than 400 seats in total, and the whole restaurant would not even fit in one photo. The tables were not crammed together either; the space was generously divided up, so it would not feel stuffy even when busy.

With wood-tone tables and white interiors, it felt bright and clean overall. The window seats looked nice and open thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows, but we sat by the corridor so we could grab food quickly 😅 Couples were sitting by the windows... haha.

Looking around, there were private group seats farther inside and truly loads of seating. It is good for a casual visit too, but if you need a venue for a first-birthday party, family gathering, reception, birthday party, company dinner, or another group event, booking one of the group rooms would be a great idea.

There were high chairs for children and even wheelchair seats for older adults with limited mobility, so even a huge extended family would not need to sit separately like a dispersed family. Everyone can sit and eat together!

There is also a separate playroom for kids. When a child starts getting restless during a meal, the parents' mealtime often ends too, haha. But here, you can send them to the playroom after they eat, so it seems very useful for family dining! Up to seven children can enter, and entry may be limited depending on numbers if other children are playing, so just note that. Mom and dad eat sushi, the child plays. A peaceful system where everyone finds their own happiness, haha.

## Endless stations, from sushi to drinks

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has a huge amount of food to match its size. Starting with Kuu Kuu's specialty sushi, there is Korean, Chinese, and Japanese food, plus desserts! Everything is separated by category, so it is easy to find.

The aisles between food stations are as spacious as the venue, so there is no worry about bumping into other people.

Maybe because the restaurant is so clean and the lighting is soft, but the food looked even more delicious.

The drink station was the most shocking part. How can there be this many kinds? Soda, juice, and coffee are normal, but I had never seen slushies, sikhye (sweet rice drink), maesil plum juice, and lychee juice at a buffet. But wow~~ there was ube latte, and even tapioca pearls right next to it, haha. Wouldn't you normally have to pay at least ₩6,000 for something like this outside?

But that was not all. They even had draft beer! You can pour Terra and Kelly draft beer yourself, and when I took these photos, they were running a review event for free genuine Terra and Kelly draft beer. Even at ₩5,900, though, isn't that practically a giveaway...? I drove, so I could not drink...🥲 I was also surprised because there were not just a few coffees and teas—there were sooooo many. I have never seen a buffet with this much variety in my life ㅠㅠ

## Sushi, hot dishes, and raw oysters

Time to properly look at the food. I always browse first before filling my plate, because my stomach is limited and otherwise I might miss something delicious later.🥲 I wish I were Tzuyang.

Kuu Kuu really is the king of sushi, with an entire section devoted to it. There were rolls, maki, tuna sashimi, salmon sashimi, mulhoe (spicy chilled raw-fish soup), regular sushi, and beef sushi—the blessing of variety never ends~ It was my first time seeing beef sushi in so many varieties, so I took photos. Look at those colors. Every single one was shiny and gorgeous ❤️

It made me think of my foreign-worker husband, who is crazy about beef.ㅠㅠ There were so many kinds of regular sushi that I made a GIF. Each one was fresh and vividly colored ❤️ And the sushi and sashimi station in my photos is not even all of it. Go see the rest for yourself😊 There is soup and bread too, so whet your appetite with a pre-meal bread-and-soup combo!

Let me introduce the hot food~ Wow... look at all those choices. There were sausages, fried food, dongpo rou (braised pork belly), steamed clams with alcohol, and, though not in the photos, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and sundae (Korean blood sausage). It is a total feast of dishes that are hard to cook at home, all in one place! You cannot be picky about food at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch.

There were many salads too, and I liked how fresh the greens and vegetables were. They were all so leafy and colorful, great for waking up the palate, and there were lots of dressings.

At the Western-food station, wow—there were raw oysters! I think I ate six just by myself, haha. They also had Chinese-style grilled pork belly in the authentic style I love, and it genuinely tasted like eating in China, which made me 500% emotional ㅠㅠ The chicken wings were so good, the chicken was good, and I could not find anything that was not delicious.

Everything came in multiple varieties, haha. Of course, there was pizza too, by type~ It was kept heated so the cheese would stay delicious.

There were several kinds of spaghetti too, and both were seasoned perfectly, which I loved.

## Desserts, including chocolate fondue and patbingsu

It is not over yet~ Let us move on to desserts. Chocolate fondue! There were lots of marshmallows and snacks to eat with it, so you can add whatever you like. Kids would absolutely love it.

There were an enormous number of cereals and toppings for yogurt or salad👍👍 On one side, you could make patbingsu (shaved ice with red beans) too. There was everything from red beans, rice cakes, jelly, and fruit to condensed milk and chocolate and strawberry syrups, so I made myself another proper bowl ❤️ As a patbingsu lover, I was sooo happy~~

Did you see how many kinds of ice cream there were? I had never seen a place with this many varieties that was not an ice cream shop. And you can eat it unlimitedly~~~

There was everything: fruit, rice cakes, sliced cake, and jelly. The fruit was fresh, the rice cakes were seriously so good, and there was jelly that I love too ❤️

I did not get a photo, but of course there was a waffle-making station! And heaps of whipped cream~

## My plate of sushi and ube latte

Now that I had looked at everything, it was time to fill my plate. Since Kuu Kuu specializes in sushi, I started by bringing back a huge selection. Just as expected, every piece was fresh and so delicious 🥹

Among the dishes were gejang (soy-marinated crab) and soy-marinated shrimp. I wondered how I was meant to eat them, then noticed they had sanitary gloves ready. Such thoughtful consideration 🥹❤️

I brought back raw oysters, fried food, Chinese dishes, Korean dishes, and all sorts of things, and ate so happily. The fried food was crisp, the squid was chewy—Kuu Kuu satisfied every texture ❤️ I kept going back for oysters, haha.

Another one of my picks was the grilled pork belly, because it tasted just like the kind I had in China. It was packed with spices and gave off that Chinese aroma. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an exotic flavor! Looking at the photos makes me want it again.

The dim sum was good too, and I brought some dongpo rou that I do not normally get to eat. Soft and fragrant ❤️ More and more sushi on my plates. I truly ate sushi to my heart's content~~ The seasoning was all exactly right—not bland or salty—which was great. When you go with older people, there are often comments like, “This is too salty” or “This is too bland,” but I do not think you need to worry here!

Wow... that mulhoe was so delicious that I ate two bowls ㅠㅠ Maybe because they do sashimi and sushi too, there was loads of raw fish in it, and it was sweet, tangy, and addictive.

I brought back spaghetti and salad too. Look at those pretty colors. The fruit I took with them was sweet and tangy too... and that oil pasta was so delicious. It had loads of clams and shrimp, like making pasta at home without holding back on ingredients and piling in all the good things 🥹

And the ube latte was so sweet and delicious. I definitely recommend trying this one.

## A generous meal out with my mom

The meal matters, of course, but at a big restaurant like this, I think the staff's attitude is most important. Families bring guests of all ages, so kindness matters most, and all the Kuu Kuu staff were lively and kind. It was nice being able to eat as much as I wanted without feeling self-conscious.

Whenever I asked something, they responded sweetly and kindly. As someone who thinks a person's attitude can make your day happier, I can confidently say that at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, the staff's kind, warm attitude and consideration can give you a happy day. And I saw someone—perhaps the owner or manager?—carefully managing the restaurant and regularly communicating with staff, and thought, ah... this place cannot help but do well.

My mom said her friends always bragged about going to Kuu Kuu and she had really wanted to visit, so I was so happy I could bring her this time. She loved it, and seeing my mom happy made me so happy too❤️ When my dad comes back to Korea soon, we should all go once more~~ Kind staff + diverse food + a clean, spacious venue: it has it all, so if you are looking for a place for a family gathering, company dinner, or sushi buffet, definitely visit Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch!
