## In short

Concasse Anguk is a Western restaurant serving fusion pasta and lasagna inside a 100-year-old hanok on Bukchon-ro, near Anguk Station in Jongno, Seoul. After seeing the Do Ho Suh exhibition at MMCA, the writer ordered the lasagna at 23,000 won and the potato gnocchi at 19,000 won; the lasagna, made of rolled fresh pasta filled with ragu and cheese, was the best lasagna the writer has ever eaten. Concasse Anguk works both as a meal after a museum visit and as a place to bring visitors from abroad.

After seeing the Do Ho Suh exhibition at MMCA, I was trying to figure out what to eat, so I went to Concasse Anguk — a pasta place near Anguk Station that everyone says is great for fusion pasta, lasagna, and beef Wellington, all inside a hanok. Apparently the original branch is in Seongsu, but it got so popular they opened this Anguk branch too.

## What the 100-year-old hanok dining room feels like

If you search for Concasse Anguk, you'll find it near Kkangtong Mandu, in a hanok building with serious atmosphere — apparently it's actually 100 years old.

Maybe because it's a hanok with a century of history behind it, the place radiates elegance and an old-world feel. The exposed rafter ceiling looks great too. Fusion pasta in a hanok house — how great is that! Maybe that's why so many foreign visitors come here. When I visited, literally everyone around me was a foreign tourist!

Turns out this place was even featured on the TV show Masters of Life for its beef Wellington and lasagna!

## Concasse Anguk menu and how to order

![Menu board at Concasse Anguk](https://img.superchart.com/images/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase-07-9ops2-966.webp)

Beef Wellington and lasagna are the signature dishes, and they also serve a variety of fusion pastas.

I ordered the lasagna for 23,000 won and the potato gnocchi for 19,000 won! Both looked like they had a distinct Concasse spin, unlike what you'd find elsewhere.

You order by scanning the QR code stuck to the table. There's a good wine list too, so pairing looks like a nice option.

## Pickles and plum ade with the meal

They bring out pickles first — refreshing, and they look homemade!

![Plum ade received for the receipt review event](https://img.superchart.com/images/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase-10-1ikyq-966.webp)

✅ If you take part in the Naver receipt review event, you get a plum ade, so I tried it. Plum is good for digestion, and since so many foreign visitors come here, it also adds a nice Korean touch. Sweet, tangy, and delicious!

## How is the potato gnocchi at 19,000 won?

![A plate of potato gnocchi at Concasse Anguk](https://img.superchart.com/images/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase-11-m1xxr-966.webp)

The gnocchi came out first. I ordered it because I heard it's made in Concasse's own style, and the shape — like little baby potatoes — looked unusual.

![Potato gnocchi topped with cream sauce and poached egg](https://img.superchart.com/images/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase-13-m8kor-966.webp)

![Plating of potato gnocchi with dried mushrooms on top](https://img.superchart.com/images/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase-14-1udxh-966.webp)

The gnocchi is rolled into little balls and fried, with a creamy sauce drizzled on the side, topped with a poached egg and what looked like dried mushrooms. It's so pretty that it felt like being treated to something really thoughtful.

![A bite of gnocchi dipped in sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase-15-16i9c-966.webp)

The gnocchi is good on its own, and just as good soaked in the sauce. It's not the chewy, rice-cake-like gnocchi people usually think of — actually, real gnocchi isn't supposed to be that chewy, but in Korea it's often made chewier because Koreans love that texture. Concasse's gnocchi keeps the fluffy, mealy quality of potato intact. Not overdone, with a gentle flavor. It'd probably pair really well with wine.

There's a poached egg sitting prettily in the middle too — cutting it in half and eating it with the sauce is also delicious.

## The signature fresh-pasta lasagna at 23,000 won

![Table setting with Concasse Anguk's signature lasagna](https://img.superchart.com/images/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase-17-1xej7-966.webp)

The lasagna arrives almost right after the gnocchi. Since it's the signature dish, I was really excited.

![Fresh pasta lasagna with an unusual shape compared to regular lasagna](https://img.superchart.com/images/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase-18-mc1pz-966.webp)

As expected, it looks nothing like the usual layered lasagna most people know.

![Close-up of fresh pasta lasagna topped with arugula](https://img.superchart.com/images/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase-19-bp621-966.webp)

Fresh pasta dough is rolled into little coils, packed full of ragu sauce and cheese, and topped with cream sauce. On top there's plenty of fresh arugula.

![A portion of lasagna scooped out onto a plate](https://img.superchart.com/images/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase-20-158bs-m-966.webp)

You just scoop out a portion at a time to eat. It looked like a small serving at first glance, but it's actually pretty filling once you eat it..!! And it's so good. I get why it's the signature dish.

![Cross-section of lasagna showing ragu sauce and cheese](https://img.superchart.com/images/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase/anguk-hanok-lasagna-konkase-21-1kqbe-966.webp)

The ragu inside isn't overpowering, the cheese is just the right amount, and the whole thing has this simple, clean charm that maximizes the flavor. Because it's fresh pasta, it's very soft and delicious — genuinely the best lasagna I've ever had. Honestly, in the past, whenever I had lasagna I used to think I'd rather just order regular pasta or pizza instead — but this lasagna here is amazing.

## Is Concasse Anguk worth a visit? Final verdict

Featured on Masters of Life as a lasagna master, and it really lives up to that..! The potato gnocchi has its own character too, but the lasagna is on a whole different level. Now I'm curious about their other signature dish, the beef Wellington. Next time I'm near Anguk Station, I'll have to try that too!
