## In short

Naemyeonui Balgyeon is a large café in Mapo, Seoul, a 6-minute walk from Mangwon Station, with floor-to-ceiling windows and terrace seating across two floors. On a weekday lunch visit the Americano cost 5,000 won and the jasmine milk tea 6,500 won; every window was open, so even the inner seats caught the outside air, and the filter coffee stayed clean and aromatic. Naemyeonui Balgyeon is that rare photo-friendly big café where the coffee is genuinely good too.

## How to walk to Naemyeonui Balgyeon from Mangwon Station in 6 minutes

6 minutes from Mangwon Station
This big Hongdae-area café, Naemyeonui Balgyeon (내면의 발견), is just 6 minutes from Mangwon Station! The route can be a little tricky, but just follow Naver Maps straight through and you'll get there without much trouble! The white, moody interior really stands out, and even the entrance was intriguing.

A quiet, hushed atmosphere — the entrance itself is no ordinary one. You have to walk around in a loop to get in, which gives it a bit of a secret-hideout feeling.

## What is a weekday lunch like at Naemyeonui Balgyeon with the windows open?

Maybe because it was weekday lunchtime, I saw quite a few office workers who'd stepped out for a bit. It was a comfortable atmosphere for chatting over coffee in a group. Since the weather was nice, all the floor-to-ceiling windows were open, and even without sitting on the terrace, the cozier inner seats still felt like drinking outside — I liked that.

### The small garden inside Naemyeonui Balgyeon

There's a small garden inside the shop. Mist rises from a pool of water on the floor — kind of like a private karaoke room? I feel like it would've had an even better mood seen in the dark rather than during the day. But with the morning sunlight streaming in, the photos came out great too, and it really felt like visiting a photo studio.

## Seating at Naemyeonui Balgyeon: room-style nooks and second-floor windows

Inside, rather than feeling uniform, there were all kinds of different seating styles — it genuinely felt like walking into a contemporary art exhibition haha.

There are seats with an analog, vintage feel, built as small rooms where you can chat cozily. Seems like the kind of seating that would be popular with couples — probably gets snapped up fast when the café is busy.

The wide-open 2nd floor space — the 2nd floor is quite spacious too, with a variety of seating. Especially those big floor-to-ceiling windows, made purely for the vibes, give you a real reason to visit this café. I didn't have much time and only stayed briefly, but if I'd taken photos I feel like I could've gotten several once-in-a-lifetime shots in that quiet, analog atmosphere. With the weather cooling down and autumn setting in, I really recommend a café like this with so many floor-to-ceiling windows and terrace seating.

## How do the jasmine milk tea and filter coffee taste?

![Jasmine milk tea topped with milk foam and a flower](https://img.superchart.com/images/mangwon-terrace-window-cafe-filter-coffee/mangwon-terrace-window-cafe-filter-coffee-15-ii10u-966.webp)

![Drink served in a to-go cup](https://img.superchart.com/images/mangwon-terrace-window-cafe-filter-coffee/mangwon-terrace-window-cafe-filter-coffee-16-16ifc-966.webp)

The flavor is quite rich and smooth. The milk foam on top is soft, and once mixed in, there's a subtle floral note — the flower in the middle is so cute. I wanted to stay and rest longer, but I had somewhere to be and had to leave within 10 minutes, so I got it in a to-go cup. If I'd gotten it in the café's regular cup, I could've captured all that overflowing Instagram-worthy mood in a photo... really a shame.

![A carefully brewed cup of filter coffee](https://img.superchart.com/images/mangwon-terrace-window-cafe-filter-coffee/mangwon-terrace-window-cafe-filter-coffee-17-1u45o-966.webp)

There was a time I really loved coffee full of crema. These days, drip filter coffee tastes better to me. The reason is that there's none of that dull, burnt taste — you really taste the bean itself, which is why my preference shifted. When good beans are simply and cleanly brewed through a filter, you feel like you're drinking the coffee aroma itself.

Not a rushed, careless brew at all — a filter coffee made with care, and a milk tea steeped rich, fragrant and sweet. Good atmosphere plus tasty drinks made for a genuinely relaxing rest, even in that short time. The drinks were so good that after drinking about half, I neatly packed the rest to go and sipped it happily later.

## Prices at Naemyeonui Balgyeon

- Americano / ₩5,000
- Jasmine milk tea / ₩6,500

> Don't assume that just because it's a big, Instagram-aesthetic café, the coffee has to be bad.
