I headed out toward Apgujeong today for Aromatica's refill day, and heard there was a great milk bread spot nearby — so I stopped by Apgujeong Saengsikppang Option Black, an Apgujeong bakery.

At the entrance was an introduction to the patissier, radiating confidence! They sell lots of bread, various drinks, and even soup. A saengsikppang shop with pure Japanese vibes — great to find one near Apgujeong Station. These days, doing one thing really well is enough to make people seek a place out.

I was drawn to the buttery-feeling 'D' bread.

## How does the signature Apgujeong latte taste?

The drink I ordered today was the signature latte here, the Apgujeong latte! Milk and fresh cream were nicely blended for an appealing nutty flavor — the Apgujeong latte was low in sweetness with a nutty taste that I thought paired well with the bread.

## Two slices of bread with three house-made jams

The order I placed today arrived. I'd ordered two slices of bread with three jams, and it was impressive that each slice was carefully packaged individually. The house jams were strawberry butter, apple cinnamon, and cherry — the texture was a bit thin, but with low sweetness and a strong fruit flavor, they paired really well with the bread. Maybe because they're healthy house jams, the more I ate, the more delicious they got.

## Toasting your own bread at the in-store toaster

The toaster has a well-set timer, so you just press the button and it toasts after a set time — nice! Just 30 seconds after pressing the toaster button, the buttery aroma of the bread and its nutty scent attacked my saliva glands. The cherry jam especially had a wonderfully refreshing jam flavor, and layering it on the warm, crispy-toasted bread was absolutely the best!

Toasted myself and eaten warm, the bread alone was great! And spreading on whichever jam I wanted was great too!

At first I tried all three jams spread on, and I liked the tangy, sour cherry jam best, so I even tore off a piece of bread and dipped it straight into the cherry jam.

Rather than just eating plain bread, it was fun toasting it myself to get it warm and crispy like freshly baked, then spreading on jam — that's what made Apgujeong Saengsikppang Option Black great! I used to often pass by shops like this on trips to Japan, so it was a novel experience finding a saengsikppang specialty shop with a café style here in Korea too. Thanks for the meal today.
