There are lots of pretty, neatly styled bars these days, but Jindallae Silbi had something else: the proper boisterous, friendly feeling of a silbi-jip, an unpretentious Korean drinking spot. > Here comes the crazy, jump-out-of-your-skin Uncle-kase! There was seriously such a variety. We had already eaten so many other dishes that we were far too full to manage the seafood soup too.. haha. But I liked that none of the snacks at Jindallae Silbi felt carelessly made. Our favorites were the bossam, seafood braise, seafood pajeon, and spicy cartilage. The bossam with kimchi was perfect with drinks, and the seafood braise was generously filled, making it fun to pick out different bites. Seafood pajeon is one of those dishes you’d miss at a drinking table, and its crispness immediately made me crave makgeolli. 🌿🦑 The cartilage with rice balls also kept us reaching back for more. Overall, it felt like a place with a really good homemade touch. ## My first omakase-style bar experience This was actually my first time at an omakase-style bar like this, and I could see a little of why people fall for them haha. At a regular bar, you order, wait for the food, then eat it while waiting, right? Here, another thing appears while you’re eating. You go, “Oh? This comes too?” and while you eat, another snack arrives haha. With dishes constantly being added, the drinks just go down so easily. Especially with friends or coworkers, you can chat, share a dish when it comes out, have another drink, then get something new—so the mood keeps naturally flowing. That’s why I thought this style would suit anyone looking for a Sadang bar for a company dinner. ## A rainy-day makgeolli event Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch also has an event where visitors receive one free bottle of makgeolli per table on rainy days. Rainy weather just makes you think of pancakes and makgeolli, doesn’t it? A minari seafood pancake loaded with fragrant water parsley plus makgeolli—say no more haha. There was a nostalgic no-lose lucky draw for the review event, and we won fourth prize!!!! We got one free bottle of soju haha. These small events are surprisingly fun at a drinking gathering. There was also a nostalgic dalgona event time in the middle. If you succeeded at the game by following the dalgona shape, you could win a bottle of soju! Jindallae Silbi is less a quiet, atmospheric bar and more somewhere to gather in a group, eat, talk, and be lively. The space is large and the tables are fairly roomy, so it was good for friend groups or company dinners, and fine for sitting and talking for a long time too. For a gathering where ordering only one dish would feel a little sad, a course like this is convenient, right!? Since many kinds of food come out even when everyone wants something different, it’s easy to accommodate everyone’s tastes haha. That’s why I thought it would also be a decent choice for anyone seeking a Sadang pre-wedding gathering venue. There are so many clean, pretty places these days, but sometimes it is more fun to spread out tons of food at a friendly silbi-jip and eat, laugh, and chatter away in a happy blur.
