## Morakmorak Seolleongtang Ansan Seongpo Main Branch: exterior and menu

Here is the exterior. The letters of Morakmorak Seolleongtang look as though each one was carefully made, stitch by stitch. It is fun.

This is Morakmorak Seolleongtang's menu. Seolleongtang (milky beef-bone soup) is ₩9,000, which struck me as very reasonable. And there is galbitang (beef short-rib soup) for ₩14,000, plus hamburg steak for ₩10,000. At this point, it really feels like a full Korean restaurant.

There is also special seolleongtang, as well as dogani-tang (ox-knee tendon soup). Dogani-tang is a little pricier at ₩17,000.

That is not all. There is a pork set meal too. It is ₩14,000, and you can choose gochujang or soy-sauce pork; it comes with wrap vegetables and brisket soybean paste stew. This lineup is crazy good.

There are mul-naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles in broth) and bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles), plus brisket soybean paste stew and Korean-pork kimchi stew. It felt like a complete roundup of Korean comfort foods.

Soju, beer, and makgeolli are ₩4,000 each. That price advantage is so nice. The drinking dishes also had a splendid lineup: assorted boiled beef hot pot, spicy braised pork back ribs, beef bulgogi hot pot, and more—an excellent spread made for drinks.

Oh, and one important thing I nearly forgot. A Naver review event was underway: participating gets you one pack of hamburg steak. Important information not to miss, haha.

## Table setting and side dishes

Here is the basic table setting. Salt, pepper, paper cups, small plates, and the rest of the necessities are neatly and simply set out.

These are the basic side dishes: stir-fried bracken fern, kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), onion, crisp green chili peppers, ssamjang (savory dipping paste), and kimchi. Everything needed is placed right where it should be.

## Inside, with a self-service bar and open kitchen

This is what the interior looks like. There were tables beside the self-service bar too, and plenty of tables on both sides of the bar and open kitchen. There were lots of diners. This is clearly a local favorite.

This is the key feature of the interior. That forest-like decor is stylish. And the individual menus somehow look AI-made... Modern civilization has come so far. It is an age when AI can do everything.

## Mul-naengmyeon with floating ice

The refreshing naengmyeon arrives. Little ice crystals floating on top—how could I resist? It has half a boiled egg, neatly arranged radish kimchi, cucumber, and sesame seeds, plus one sizable piece of naengmyeon meat.

Cut it with scissors, add vinegar and mustard, and it is heavenly. Naengmyeon is hard to resist in summer, so I ordered it. The broth was good too. I liked bibim-naengmyeon when I was young, but these days I prefer mul-naengmyeon!

## Pork set meal with gochujang pork and brisket soybean paste stew

I ordered the pork set meal. You can choose between soy sauce and gochujang, and I chose the gochujang pork. There were plenty of onions in the red gochujang seasoning.

The brisket soybean paste stew was seriously amazing. This is not just ordinary soybean paste stew—it has brisket, and it comes as part of the set. On top of that, the earthenware pot is huge. I would believe it if this were the main dish rather than part of a set.

This is the pork set meal spread. It is truly lavish and generous. The wrap vegetables still had moisture on them, so they looked freshly washed. That gave me confidence.

The brisket soybean paste stew was packed with ingredients: chili peppers, tofu, brisket, onion, and green onion—every essential element of soybean paste stew was there. The flavor was solid too.

Here is the self-service bar. It was stocked with all sorts of things: enoki and king oyster mushrooms, onion, crisp green chili peppers, stir-fried bracken fern, ssamjang, kimchi, kkakdugi, garlic, and more. With such a generous selection, I could really enjoy the meal properly.

There were many older diners too, and it seems their choices are never wrong. If I am in this part of Ansan again, I think this place will stay on my mind for a while. It feels like the kind of local restaurant that calls you back for another visit.
