## In short

Pho Witch is a Vietnamese restaurant on Gwiin-ro in Pyeongchon, Anyang, Gyeonggi. The blogger ordered the sibling seafood nasi goreng, pad thai, and mixed fritters, and was especially struck by the freshness of the mussels and shrimp and the concentrated umami of the broth. Pho Witch's nasi goreng is good enough to call a lifetime-best, making this a place worth revisiting.

I visited Pho Witch.

## The exterior of Pho Witch in Pyeongchon, with a striking witch logo

![Exterior of Pho Witch with its pink witch logo](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-01-zkgv8-900.webp)

This is Pho Witch. As the name suggests, it's a Vietnamese food specialist — I think the name plays on 'pho witch,' something like that. The pink logo combining a witch's hat with pho really stood out to me.

## The interior vibe and the channel event

![Interior of the restaurant with air conditioning and channel event signage](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-02-15dv6-900.webp)

A few details about the interior — first, full air conditioning. And there was a channel event running: add the store's channel for a chance to draw. The catch is, you're guaranteed to win something!

### The menu board

![Wall menu board with actual photos of the dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-03-12wmj-900.webp)

Here's the menu board. A variety of dishes at reasonable prices and portions, with actual photos of the food on display. Being able to see exactly what you're getting with your own eyes felt like a real plus.

### Palate-cleansing candy

![Palate-cleansing candy and caramel](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-04-lj65o-900.webp)

Palate-cleansing candy and caramel — that candy is tangy and really tasty. Apparently it's quite trendy these days.

![Interior detail with pop-up decorations](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-05-v5xgi-900.webp)

More interior details. I thought they made good use of pop-up decorations. Their Instagram handle was also well promoted.

### The basic table setting

![Basic table setting with pickled radish, pickled onions, and a small plate](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-06-9okuv-900.webp)

The basic setting: pickled radish and pickled onions come out, along with a small plate. Standard stuff.

## Set options and prices on the tablet menu

![Tablet menu listing the set menus](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-07-1dtn8-900.webp)

This is the tablet menu. The Banh Mi-chatda ('I'm crazy about banh mi') solo set has great naming sense, I thought. A combo of banh mi and pho for that price is incredibly reasonable. The Vietnamese-style set for 4 is ₩67,000, also a sensible price point. The kids-welcome set for 3 seems great if you have children with you.

The bun cha drinking set is built around bun cha (grilled pork with rice noodles) paired with various dishes and drinks. There's also a Vietnamese-vibe drinking set. And the 'today's the day for me' solo drinking set is fun too. The set combos are so playful that just browsing them was entertaining.

![Tablet screen showing pho menu items including the siblings' devoted pho](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-08-1ao3s-900.webp)

I heard this place is run by a brother and sister. The 'siblings' devoted pho' is a fun name. The 'little sister recommends' spicy pho is also listed as a best-seller.

![Tablet screen showing the sibling seafood nasi goreng menu item](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-09-fjiib-m-900.webp)

Sibling seafood nasi goreng. I can't resist nasi goreng. How could I pass up that visual? Ordered it immediately.

![Tablet screen showing bun cha, banh mi, and spring roll menu items](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-10-1tu6f-900.webp)

Bun cha, so playful. Banh Mi-chatda, and the Pine-nara Yangji Princess spring rolls. Their naming sense here is excellent.

![Tablet screen showing the drinks menu](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-11-146kx-900.webp)

![Tablet screen showing the alcohol menu including Saigon Beer](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-12-evtco-900.webp)

The drink and alcohol lineup is good too. Cider and Fanta Pineapple — Fanta really has to be pineapple flavor — and Welch's is grape, they know their stuff. Pororo turns out to be blue lemonade?! Saigon Special and Saigon Beer are covered, and there's Chang Beer and Terra Beer too.

## The mixed fritters are basically four kinds

![Plate of mixed fritters including karaage and tôm chiên](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-13-1mtvo-900.webp)

The mixed fritters arrive. Three types of shrimp fritters, plus karaage (Japanese fried chicken) and tôm chiên (shrimp toast). Since the mini tôm chiên also has shrimp in it, that's technically four kinds. Still, each has its own distinct flavor because the batter differs.

![Pho broth served alongside a rice dish order](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-14-10zdu-900.webp)

When you order a rice dish, you get a broth like this on the side, which gives you a hint of what the pho tastes like. This broth is deep and rich — the pho is probably delicious too.

![Table spread with nasi goreng, pad thai, and mixed fritters](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-15-hwe67-1200.webp)

The nasi goreng and pad thai arrive and the table is complete. The fried egg on top of the nasi goreng looks perfect.

## Sibling seafood nasi goreng — a lifetime-best contender

![Sibling seafood nasi goreng topped with a fried egg](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-16-tyzwq-900.webp)

This is amazing, seriously (tears). The umami is so concentrated. It's been a while since I found a truly great nasi goreng spot. Plenty of squid in there too, plus large shrimp and cocktail shrimp, and the mussels were incredibly fresh above all — the freshest mussels I've seen in a long while.

## How's the pad thai?

![Pad thai topped with crushed peanuts and onion chips](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-17-1jbv9-900.webp)

The pad thai is tasty too. There's something like smoked bacon in it, plus crushed peanuts and crispy onion chips, so there's a lot of variety to enjoy in each bite.

![Close-up of a mussel from the nasi goreng](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-18-xv9ku-900.webp)

The freshness of the mussels — this photo came out really dynamic. The combination of mussels and nasi goreng was umami on top of umami, which I loved.

## A draw event with no losing tickets

![Nostalgic draw board with no losing tickets](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-19-k9nbh-900.webp)

A nostalgic draw game — apparently there are no losing tickets.

![Store event signage including a spinning wheel](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-20-qcvkh-900.webp)

There's also a spinning wheel and other events running.

![Result of the draw showing a fifth-place win](https://img.superchart.com/images/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng/pho-witch-pyeongchon-seafood-nasi-goreng-21-77ps3-900.webp)

I won a fifth-place prize. I'll have to come back and use it next time. This place is definitely worth revisiting — I already love Vietnamese and Thai food to begin with, and their nasi goreng is basically lifetime-best level.
