## In short

Allegro is an Italian restaurant near Songpanaru Station in Bangi-dong, Songpa, Seoul, where dinner comes with a live jazz set. The writer ordered puttanesca, a seafood salad and a sous-vide pork collar steak while the Kim In-young Trio played just a few steps away. She came to Allegro for the jazz and left even more impressed by the food.

These days I find myself looking for places with good vibes, not just good food. Allegro, which I visited recently, is a spot where you can eat dinner while watching a live jazz set right in front of you.

Honestly, since it's mainly known for its jazz shows, I didn't expect much from the food — but I was surprised at how good it actually was. The performance was great, but I'd happily go back just for the food. Here's my writeup on this Bangi-dong pasta spot.

## Where Allegro is and what the room feels like

Allegro is a short walk from Exit 2 of Songpanaru Station, located on the 3rd floor of 57-1 Olympic-ro 32-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul.

The moment I walked in, the vibe felt different from a typical Western restaurant. In one corner, staff were busy setting up the performance space.

And through the window you can see Lotte World Tower. Seeing it lit up at night made the atmosphere even better — this would be a really good date spot.

Hours are 12:00 to 23:00, with a break time from 15:00 to 18:00 and last order at 21:30. It's closed on Tuesdays. There's no parking support, so you'll need to park nearby — the closest public lot seems to be the Songpa-gu Office public parking lot.

## Allegro jazz set times and live charge

The biggest reason I wanted to visit Allegro was the jazz show. Performances happen daily starting at 7:30pm, with Set 1 running from 19:30 to 20:10 and Set 2 from 20:25 to 21:05. There's a live charge for visits or reservations during show time — ₩10,000 per person on weekdays and ₩15,000 per person on Fridays and Saturdays.

You can check the show schedule and lineup either at the 3rd-floor entrance or on Instagram. Since the lineup changes daily, you can pick a show you like ahead of time, or just enjoy the fun of seeing a different act each visit.

What I loved most was that you're not watching from far away — you hear the music right in front of you. Listening to live jazz up close while eating didn't feel like just going out for dinner, it felt like a proper date. It also went really well with wine. I think jazz pairs so well with winter, and I imagine coming back this winter for a glass of wine and dinner here would be perfect.

### Hearing the Kim In-young Trio up close

On the day I visited, the Kim In-young Trio was performing.

It wasn't just instrumental jazz — there was singing too, and between songs they explained a bit about each piece, which made it much more immersive than just listening passively. The best part was being able to watch the show from right up close. I naturally made eye contact with the musicians and reacted along with them; being face-to-face with the audience while they played and sang felt like a completely different experience from watching jazz at a regular venue.

On one side jazz was playing, and at the tables people were clinking wine glasses, eating good food, and chatting — it was such a nice scene.

It wasn't a stiff atmosphere where you had to sit quietly and focus on the show — everyone was relaxed, eating and talking while naturally enjoying the jazz, and that felt like one of Allegro's biggest charms. Being able to enjoy live jazz this close while eating a delicious dinner was more special than I expected, and I found myself completely absorbed until the show ended.

## Puttanesca at Allegro: between tomato and oil pasta

That day we ordered puttanesca, seafood salad, sous-vide pork collar steak, and orange juice.

![Ordered puttanesca and seafood salad](https://img.superchart.com/images/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro-09-1qnlh-900.webp)

First, the puttanesca — a dish I genuinely enjoyed. It's a Naples-style oil pasta with olives, anchovies, capers, and tomato, and it's not fully an oil pasta, but not as heavy as a tomato pasta either.

![Puttanesca pasta at Allegro](https://img.superchart.com/images/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro-11-1mnex-900.webp)

To me it landed right in between a tomato pasta and an oil pasta, which I loved. There was the savory depth of tomato along with the clean flavor typical of oil pasta, and the vegetables on top made it even tastier. If you're looking for a good pasta place in Bangi-dong, I'd recommend the puttanesca — I'd order it again next time.

### Why the seafood salad beat expectations

![Seafood salad with lime dressing](https://img.superchart.com/images/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro-12-hanq1-900.webp)

It's a Mediterranean-style salad with seafood, bell pepper, onion, sea grapes, and lime dressing, and it had more variety of seafood than I expected. The octopus in particular was cooked just right — tender, not chewy at all — and the sea grapes had a fun, popping texture.

Thanks to the lime dressing it was refreshing, good to pair with the bread before the meal or to eat alongside the pasta or meat. I think this would also go really well with a glass of wine.

## Sous-vide pork collar steak and orange juice

![Sous-vide pork collar steak with peppercorn sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro-14-1dku9-900.webp)

The sous-vide pork collar steak uses domestic pork collar, cooked sous-vide and finished with a crispy sear, served with peppercorn sauce. I thought pork collar might be a bit dry, but it wasn't at all — the inside was tender and the outside was well seared, giving it a nice texture, and it was delicious with the peppercorn sauce.

French fries came on the side, and they were great too — piping hot, like they'd just come out of the fryer, and crispy, so I kept reaching for them along with the steak.

![French fries served with the steak](https://img.superchart.com/images/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro-17-ch88i-900.webp)

![Orange juice with real orange pulp](https://img.superchart.com/images/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro-18-130zf-900.webp)

The orange juice wasn't your average juice either. It had real orange pulp when you drank it, giving it a strong fresh-squeezed feel, and it was refreshing enough to pair well with the food.

## Came to Allegro for jazz, stayed for the food

![Enjoying jazz and dinner at Allegro](https://img.superchart.com/images/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro-19-9v3w7-900.webp)

Honestly, going in, watching the jazz show was my main priority, so I wasn't expecting much from the food. But after trying it, I was even more surprised by how good the food was. The puttanesca suited my taste, the seafood salad was fresh, and the sous-vide pork collar steak was great overall — good enough that I'd consider coming back just for the food next time.

![Notice for Allegro's lunch pasta discount](https://img.superchart.com/images/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro/bangidong-jazz-puttanesca-allegro-20-1nceh-m-900.webp)

Since all pasta menu items are 15% off for lunch visits, I'd like to come back for lunch just for the pasta. And in the evening you can enjoy the jazz show too, so it's a great spot if you're looking for an atmospheric restaurant in Songpa or a slightly different date course. Looking out at Lotte World Tower through the window, hearing live jazz right in front of you, and eating great food all at once — that's Allegro. I'm definitely keeping this one in mind to visit again this winter.
