Walking in, the place was packed with people looking for galbijjim near Seohyeon Station and office workers grabbing lunch. We ordered two servings of beef galbijjim plus a steamed egg to help cool down the spice!

You get to pick a spice level when ordering, and we went with mild! Apparently medium is about as spicy as Buldak fire noodles, and as for the spicy level — there's supposedly nothing to compare it to!!!! haha, we can barely handle Shin Ramyun so...

## The owner cuts the meat and ingredients at your table

The basic side dishes were a neat little spread of mayo macaroni salad, which pairs perfectly with spicy food, and crunchy bean sprouts.

Once our beef galbijjim arrived and started bubbling away, the genuinely kind owner came over and personally cut up all the meat and ingredients, piece by piece! That friendly service put me in a great mood before I'd even taken a bite.

## How does mild taste? Garlicky heat and the beef itself

Even though it was mild, the special sauce is loaded with garlic, so it was more of a kick than I expected and pretty spicy! The meat is trimmed fresh every day, and it really showed — the meat was so fresh and tender it practically melted in my mouth. The sauce had soaked all the way into the meat, so every bite was a little gasp of delight.

There was a generous amount of rice cakes included by default too, perfect for enjoying that chewy texture. Whenever the spice built up, alternating bites with the owner's fluffy, soft steamed egg, the mayo macaroni, and the bean sprouts tamed the heat perfectly — the combination was flawless.

## Adding a bowl of rice to soak up the sauce

Of course you can't leave out rice with a sauce like this! We ordered an extra bowl of rice and piled the sweet-spicy galbijjim sauce and tender meat right on top — pure perfection. We finished every last bite without getting tired of it once.
