Today, I’m bringing you a review of Sujeoga, a Chinese restaurant I truly love and visit regularly! It is the first place that comes to mind on a stressful day or whenever I’m craving a spicy broth. It is already a well-known favorite for those in the know, but since it is one of my again-and-again-and-again places, I thought I’d give it a proper introduction this time!

## A clean, welcoming dining room

Sujeoga is so popular that it is always full of diners if you arrive around mealtime. There are usually plenty of people, but the restaurant is kept so clean that it feels pleasant from the moment you walk in. Once you are seated and have ordered, danmuji (yellow pickled radish) and onions are neatly set out as the basic sides. It is a simple but tidy spread that makes the wait for food feel nice.

That day, I ordered Sujeoga’s signature chadol jjamppong (spicy noodle soup with thin-sliced beef brisket) and garlic tangsuyuk (Korean-Chinese sweet-and-sour fried pork)!! Let’s see how these two dishes were below. 😋

## What does the garlic tangsuyuk taste like?

The first dish out was the one must-not-miss house specialty: garlic tangsuyuk. Sujeoga’s garlic tangsuyuk has a light coating and generously thick pieces of meat, making it wonderfully satisfying to bite into. The crisp yet chewy texture really shines through—the textbook fried dish, crisp outside and moist within.

The garlic sauce on top is especially appealing. Its gently pungent garlic aroma spreads through the dish, while the sweet-and-savory seasoning soaks right into the meat. The garlic sauce cuts through any richness from the fried pork perfectly, so every last piece stays delicious rather than tiring. If you visit, I absolutely recommend ordering the tangsuyuk.

## Smoky chadol jjamppong broth and generous toppings

Next came the main dish, chadol jjamppong, which looks soothing from the very first glance. The generous heap of beef brisket, seafood, and vegetables makes for a sight that immediately earns admiration. There is truly no skimping on the brisket, and its deep, rich meaty flavor is fully worked into the broth.

Take a sip of the broth first, and a gentle smoky wok aroma rises as its spicy, rich flavor fills your mouth. Even with so much meat, it is not muddy or heavy—the clean heat of the broth is really impressive. The noodles are nicely springy, too, and soak up just the right amount of broth. Wrap the noodles around the beef brisket and crisp vegetables for one big bite, and the combination is perfect.

Whenever I visit, Sujeoga consistently delivers generous portions and deep flavor. The rich, spicy chadol jjamppong and pungent-sweet garlic tangsuyuk are the ultimate combination—one I never get tired of, no matter how many times I have it.
