First of all, Heui means “a space for sharing joy and sorrow.” I’m guessing they went with Heui because “hee-hee” would be too hard to pronounce! There was a neon sign on the wall with that meaning, but rather than feeling flashy, it gave off a quiet, softly sentimental mood 🌿 The dining room had tables for two and four, as well as bar seating. We took a four-person table! It was immediately set with dishes in striking, ornate patterns. After countless visits, this was my first time trying Egg in Hell... me 🙋 I hope anyone reading this doesn’t make the same mistake as I did.. Not ordering it until now was a mistake 😢 Also called eggs in hell, this dish cooks eggs in a red tomato sauce and is said to taste similar to shakshuka, a Middle Eastern dish. The name Egg in Hell is so cute because it looks like eggs from hell~ Heui’s Egg in Hell was really loaded with egg, tomato, cheese, and more. Personally, it felt like eating a spicy tomato chicken stew. The spice was exactly the kind of gentle heat anyone can enjoy.
