I’ve been commuting to Seongsu lately! Since I don’t normally come here often, I’ve been eating at Seongsu’s good restaurants at lunchtime too, haha. Even after work, it felt like a shame to head straight home, so I stopped by one of Seongsu’s hot restaurants.

I visited Bao Seoul Seongsu (바오서울 성수), a popular Seongsu restaurant serving Taiwanese food :) I used to really love Bao Bar Itaewon’s bao, but it closed..ㅠㅠ There’s a bao place in Seongsu!! I simply had to go.

## Bao Seoul Seongsu location and hours

It is open daily, including weekends, from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., so you can visit whenever a bao craving strikes at lunch or dinner! As expected of a hot spot, it is open on weekends too! It also has vegan menu options, which is nice~

Bao Seoul Seongsu is about a five-minute walk from Exit 3 of Seongsu Station.

I walked slowly from Ttukseom to Seongsu, looking around as I went, and the closer I got to Seongsu, the more people there were—including lots of international visitors~

## A green exterior and a Taiwanese night-market-like interior

### Exterior

I arrived at Bao Seoul! Isn’t that leafy green exterior so pretty?

With so many plants, the entrance already felt lively. The character logo is cute too!

### Interior

The moment you open the door, you are instantly transported from a Seongsu hot spot to a little Taiwanese night-market alley restaurant, haha. The Chinese-character lighted signs, walls, tables, and other decor feel vintage and exotic. I visited around 5 p.m., and there was no wait!

## Bao Seoul menu and order combination

![Bao Seoul menu board](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-bao-dongpo-pork-rice/seongsu-bao-dongpo-pork-rice-12-yaaly-966.webp)

The menu was simple~ There are bao (steamed buns) by main ingredient, noodle dishes, rice bowls, and sides, so it looked easy to mix and match a few things to suit your taste.

> Braised pork rice bowl ₩15,000 / Lamb bao ₩12,500 / Shrimp bao ₩12,500

The classic was the best menu item, but.. I love shrimp, so I ordered the shrimp and lamb bao, plus the best-selling braised pork rice bowl.

The signature dishes are posted on the wall, so it is easy to check out how they look~ Seeing them like this, the classic bao looks delicious tooㅜㅜ Next time.

## Shrimp and lamb bao with braised pork rice bowl

The shrimp bao came out first. The shrimp ball was fried! It was topped with cabbage salad and sauce.

Next was the lamb bao. It was packed with lamb, and the sauce was overflowing too, haha.

Finally, everything was out, including the braised pork. I ordered generously because I thought we might finish the bao quickly, but the braised pork bowl was big and there was really a lot of it~

I was sad not to order the classic bao with pork in it, but the braised pork rice bowl filled that gap, making this a dinner spread with lamb, shrimp, and pork all nicely covered~

The braised pork came with plenty of toppings, so I mixed it up for easier eating!

It was not salty at all, the seasoning was just right, and the pork was tender to chew, making it a great choice for lunch or dinner.

![Bao cut with a knife](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-bao-dongpo-pork-rice/seongsu-bao-dongpo-pork-rice-19-17uo0-966.webp)

The bao was far too big to eat in one bite, haha. I used a knife to cut it into manageable pieces.

The lamb had no gamey smell and was steamed until it had a soft texture. There was plenty of sauce on the bao plate, so I dipped only as much as I needed. It was really easy to eat once I cut it up and placed it on top~

A thick handmade shrimp patty was hiding beneath the cabbage salad. I cut this one with a knife too, so it would be easier to eat.

Cutting up the bao, then adding the patty and salad on top made it easy to eat, and all the flavors worked together nicely~

The sauce was spread over the plate, so you can dip generously to your heart’s content~

Even just two bao were quite filling! The braised pork was a best seller for a reason—I kept reaching for it and enjoyed it so much, haha. It was a satisfying, hearty dinner with a great combination of lamb, shrimp, and pork.
