I fell completely in love with the Signature Noir cake there before, and had been dying to go back, so this time I decided to try all four madeleine flavors! Since it was a repeat visit, I ordered without holding back. The madeleines were a bit disappointing last time, so I wanted to try different flavors this round. Lime madeleine — refreshing from the look of the lime zest sprinkled on top. One bite and the citrus aroma bursts through. The zing that cuts through the richness is great, haha. Personally my top pick out of the four! 2. Earl Grey madeleine — a subtle Earl Grey aroma runs through it. The tea leaves you can actually chew are a nice touch. Vanilla madeleine — the most classic flavor. The texture of the vanilla bean you can bite into is really something. Simple but rich and nutty. Pistachio madeleine — loaded with pistachio crunch. Every bite bursts with nuttiness. The pairing with the Guanaja is absolutely insane, seriously. Chocolate + pistachio combos never fail. Each madeleine is ₩4,500, but they're a decent size and you can tell the ingredients aren't skimped on. Even if the per-piece price feels a bit much, it's worth trying at least once, haha. ## Is Notldun worth a repeat visit? Last time I mostly focused on cake, but this time was a moment of rediscovering the madeleines. They definitely seemed moister than before, and all four flavors had their own character, making it fun to pick and choose. If you love the deep, rich taste of Valrhona chocolate, the Guanaja will absolutely be your thing. Getting a free drink from the Valrhona event made it a great value day too, haha. If you're looking for a good dessert café in Seongsu, I highly recommend Notldun, where you can enjoy cake, madeleines, and a chocolate drink all in one go. It's also perfect for a Seongsu date course.
