## In short

Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch is a Korean snack restaurant in Yongsan, Seoul. We ordered the mild Hyeonseoni Combo for 26,000 won and shared tteokbokki, fritters, sundae, mini gimbap, and Busan fish cakes. Verdict: a seriously filling and satisfying set for two hungry adults.

Today, I’m sharing our visit to Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch (현선이네 용산본점), a tteokbokki pilgrimage spot my husband and I visited together. 🙂

It won over both me, the kind of person who would leap out of bed for tteokbokki, and my big-eating husband, who always calls for meat because Korean snacks never seem filling enough. It was already such a famous tteokbokki spot in Yongsan that we arrived full of expectations, but it was even more generous and delicious than expected—I left completely happy.

This tteokbokki shop started as a street stall in 2004. The exterior looks a little like its current building, right? 🙂 I heard it is also famous as a tteokbokki place loved by countless celebrities, including Choiza, director Bong Joon-ho, and Kang Min-kyung. 😉 My husband, who eats a lot, even came out patting his belly at the end 🫃🏻—so let me round up the massive Hyeonseoni Combo and the shop details!

## Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch: location and parking

The address is 2-13 Hangang-daero 39-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and it is within walking distance of Exit 5 of Sinyongsan Station. It is easy to reach from both Sinyongsan and Yongsan stations, and connects straight to the Yongsan food alley, making it perfect to pair with a date. Its hip yet cute red exterior has a street-stall feel and stands out from afar, so even people with no sense of direction should find it easily.

It is such a popular spot with frequent waits that joining the Catchtable queue is essential at peak times. Still, the shaded waiting area and chairs showed the owner’s thoughtful touch.

To get straight to the point, Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch has no dedicated parking. 😭 It is tucked inside an alley, so parking in front of the shop is not possible. If you drive, you will need to use a nearby paid or public parking lot.

You can use the closest private lot or parking at a nearby building. Another nice option is to park at Yongsan Station I'Park Mall, enjoy some shopping or a movie, get a parking discount through app benefits, then stroll over. Still, I most recommend coming comfortably by public transit to Sinyongsan Station!

## The Hyeonseoni Combo and set menu

Ordering is easy at the in-store kiosk. You can order tteokbokki, fritters, sundae, and gimbap individually, but Hyeonseonine’s real charm is its well-packed set menus.

![Hyeonseonine set menu information](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongsan-snack-combo-heonseonine/yongsan-snack-combo-heonseonine-06-1xdot-900.webp)

The signature Hyeonseoni Combo is ₩26,000 and includes tteokbokki, assorted fritters, sundae, mini gimbap, and three Busan eomuk (fish-cake) skewers. I strongly recommend this lineup.

If you want a lighter meal without fish cakes—just tteokbokki, fritters, sundae, and gimbap—the ₩23,000 Hyeonseoni Set is also a great choice. There is also the Hyeonseonibeer Set with two draft beers. It is ₩32,000! For just ₩6,000 more, you get two beers—such a bargain, right?! You can adjust the spice level too. 😇

Since it was daytime, we resisted the beer and chose the Hyeonseoni Combo without hesitation because we wanted to properly enjoy the fish-cake broth too! For reference, this place is popular not only for its regular ready-made tteokbokki, but also for instant tteokbokki that you cook at the table, so choose what suits your taste. 😋

## A Hyeonseoni Combo feast for two

The moment the food arrived, both my husband and I automatically went, “Wow.” Our Hyeonseoni Combo brought tteokbokki, assorted fritters, sundae, mini gimbap, and Busan fish cakes all at once. The five Korean-snack siblings filled the huge table from edge to edge—it was happiness at first sight. 🤣🤣🤣

### The definition of soft and chewy: mild tteokbokki

Hyeonseonine is a Yongsan favorite well known for spicy tteokbokki, right? There are lots of reviews saying the spicy version is enough to snap you awake, so we safely chose mild.

![Hyeonseonine soupy tteokbokki ordered mild](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongsan-snack-combo-heonseonine/yongsan-snack-combo-heonseonine-12-1lorx-900.webp)

The sweet base characteristic of soupy tteokbokki blended so gently with a spiciness that really whetted the appetite. The soft yet satisfyingly chewy texture of the wheat rice cakes was a work of art. Scoop up broth and rice cake together, and it is the kind of addictive flavor that just keeps going down.

### The ultimate crisp-outside, tender-inside assorted fritters

![Assorted fritters with gim-mari and sweet potato](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongsan-snack-combo-heonseonine/yongsan-snack-combo-heonseonine-13-i3kuu-900.webp)

The assortment included gim-mari (seaweed-wrapped glass-noodle fritters), sweet potato, and vegetable fritters. They arrived cleanly fried and wonderfully crisp, without even a hint of stale oil. You can practically hear the crunch when you bite in. They are deliciously nutty on their own, but dunking them deeply in the sweet-spicy tteokbokki sauce? No need to say more—the best pairing.

### Bouncy sundae, mini gimbap, and Busan fish cakes with no off smell

Personally, these were dishes that impressed me as much as the tteokbokki. Sundae (Korean blood sausage) at snack shops can sometimes be dry or have an off smell, but this one was wonderfully bouncy and chewy. I first enjoyed it simply with a little salt, then dipped it in the tteokbokki sauce—the moisture doubled. 😇

The mini gimbap somehow tastes incredible despite seeming so simple. Its nutty sesame-oil aroma fills your mouth and works beautifully as a relief pitcher to calm the heat. 💕 Then a bite of plump, chewy curled fish cake and a sip of deep, refreshing fish-cake broth make for the perfect grand finale. ❣️

## Is it enough food for two adults?

My husband is a big eater who can easily finish anywhere from 1.5 to 3 portions at a typical restaurant. At first, because it was a Korean-snack set, he looked doubtful that it would fill him up. But no! The generous portion barely seemed to shrink no matter how much we ate. He alternated through the fritters, gimbap, and sundae at full speed, and by the time he picked up the last fish-cake skewer, his face was full of a happily full smile. 🤣

![The Hyeonseoni Combo meal shared by two adults](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongsan-snack-combo-heonseonine/yongsan-snack-combo-heonseonine-16-yfiwv-900.webp)

Rather than merely being enough for two adults, it is abundantly generous. It would suit three women, or two people with big appetites. 🙏 As we left after the meal, my husband patted his very full belly 🫃🏻 and could not praise it enough: “This place is the real deal—so much food, and it’s delicious!” ✨

Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch was even more satisfying because it preserves the heritage of its street-stall days while letting you eat in a clean, cool, comfortable space. The nostalgic sweet-spicy tteokbokki broth and substantial side dishes proved with every bite why it has long been one of Seoul’s beloved Korean-snack restaurants. If you are looking for a hearty, delicious meal near Yongsan Station, or a reliable Yongsan food-alley spot to visit with someone you love, give it a try.
