Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from the ribs—then, wait what? It suits the name Ihwajeong perfectly. Parking is free for three hours if you get your ticket validated! Apparently, Ihwajeong means pear blossom!! They use pear to tenderize the meat, so you get wonderfully soft meat. To be honest, I was too hungry to read any of this when I went in, haha. The whole interior felt spacious, graceful, and lovely, with a sense of traditional Korean beauty. ## Spacious tables and rooms for company dinners and gatherings Can you see how much space there is between the tables? I loved it!!! There are long tables that are perfect for company dinners, plus separate rooms. Of course, they grill the meat for you too, so it looked ideal for a work dinner or gathering. They may look like nothing special, but every single one was insanely good ㅠㅠㅠ Since my companion and I were eating them so enthusiastically, the manager grilling beside us even told us to hurry and get refills before the kitchen closed at 8:20, haha. At first, I ordered only one bowl of rice because I was trying not to eat too much, but the stew was so good that I couldn't help ordering another one. So we ended up with a bowl of rice each, haha. We just barely managed to order that before 8:20 too... Next time, I definitely want to try the bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) as well. ## Marinated beef ribs I recommended the second I took a bite Once they are somewhat cooked, they set the pork ribs aside for a moment and cut the beef ribs into these neat, beautiful pieces. See that color? ㅠ Just looking at it makes my mouth water. An instant order, no question. The beef ribs were transferred neatly onto a plate. Okay, listen. They look like beef ribs that would simply be ordinarily tasty, right? But the moment I took a bite—seriously, wait what... “Delicious” wasn't enough to describe it. They were so soft and tasty that I unconsciously said, “Hey, try this now!” The manager grilling our meat saw me and couldn't hold back a laugh, haha. That's when he told me they use pear, which is why the meat is tender. So insanely delicious. They give one to every person as dessert, so make sure you eat it. It tastes like a frozen Galbae pear drink, so it's a flavor you can imagine, but it was so fresh and sweet—and it cleared every last trace of rich meatiness from my mouth. Honestly, I usually prefer plain samgyeopsal (pork belly) or grilled beef over marinated ribs, so I really don't seek them out often. But Ihwajeong was one unexpected wow moment after another, and I left so happily full. I absolutely recommend it for group work dinners or family gatherings too.
